There are 2 screws up top.... 2 push pins up top.... 4 push pins down at the bottom inside....(look in from the top, over the grill)...

Then it seems like there is still something holding it, but not really... the grill is sitting on 4 plastic tabs on the bottom (you cannot see them)... Just give the grill a pull on one side to clear the paint under the headlight and pull firmly upward... it will come off of those tabs. Then do the other side... it's off !!!.... Much easier then masking and getting mosquitos, etc on your new Dip job...!! I sprayed in my shop.

    Two lessons were learned today.

1- a buffer will rip plastidip right off
2- cheap masking tape doesn't stick to freshly waxed paint

@808tacodude: This is exactly what I want to do, and have the grill look like. Did you use flat black standard Plastidip color and no glossifier or what did you use? I have read this entire thread, but what technique did you use ... standard recommended in all the Fonzy videos, 5+ coats 15 minutes apart, or ? Any advice appreciated.:help::tumbleweed:

Remove the grill and take off the surround cause you aren't going to plastic dip it. Shoot the grille and emblem. I made about 5 coats and about 20 minutes in between. Just make sure you take your time and don't let it clump up and drip. After your got it coated, take a razor blade and cut the edge of the emblem and peal off. Pretty simple but makes a huge difference.

I've been a little disappointed with the plasti dip. Today it grabbed on to my towel while drying the front end and peeled off the grill. I think I'm going to be taking all the dip off soon and painting it all black permanently. I don't forsee me ever wanting to go back to chrome so I think it'll work out better in the long run.

Quick question guys, did any of you just reapply plasti-dip to do any touchups from your first session? Or did you guys just took it all of and restarted?

I've done both depending on the job and either way worked out, depending on the severity of the touch up needed.

    Thanks good sir.

The wetter the better for a clean line, when you pull away the tape I've found.... and layers!

I aim for 5-7 layers, then before I pull off the tape, I've sprayed one last time to get it wet, count to 10 and then pull off quickly and away from the spray.
