Now that I read about it, I went and checked, and I have the identical gap on my truck. And now it's gonna make me nuts.

Hi Frank, the description that you read might have been a general statement description because they definitely have positive touch which I was very glad of. In my opinion, I believe to not particularly affect the off-road ability of the truck, obviously the wheel is not going to tuck up into The wheel well like it would without them, it would just lift that corner of the back of the truck up more but your drop articulation would remain the same ,(the positive touch to the frame is what I believe makes the ride so much better)

I guess another way to say it is the sumo springs share the weight of the truck with the leaf springs when there's nothing in the bed or nobody in the back seats but when you add weight that's when they come alive

Ditto on the gap. Looks like it was rear ended and fixed 1/2 azz. Mine (inside tailgate side) is 3/16" on passenger side and nearly 3/8" on driver side. I was in the machine shop business for 35+ years and no QA dept I worked with would accept the big difference. There are dimensional tolerances as well as cosmetic acceptable issues. Then again I worked with Eastern Europeans that had an eye for precision and quality. Is it a ying-yang issue or a Texican issue. Maybe the guy on the passenger side also filled our transmissions. A little farsighted guy named Paco. I love my truck but my 1st and 2nd gen Yotas were top quality built. This one is disappointing. Are the ones built in Japan showing this same flaw. I only hope these 3rd gen issues find their way to Factory TSB's. Toyota can't hide these problems forever. Thanks to the op for this info. Will add to the 5k service list.

I have the step it was on the truck from the dealer. I just looked under my truck and I thought what the dealer said could be a possibility but the step bolts right to the frame above the bumper bolts. There does not seem to be a connection between the bumper and the step.

I like that they match. Did you get the truck or jet ski first?

Also who put the spacers on your truck?

I'm just south of Gainesville myself.

Mine is fine less than 1/2" on both sides. I'm OCD about that stuff so l wouldn't like it either.

Now be mindful that the rated WWL for mule tape is 1800# for underground cable pulling! Got in a huge debate with the safey guy at work. We use that stuff for overhead power lines lol.

ARB compressor is wired in and mounted! Had to extended the ARB wiring harness about 10 feet to get it back there. As far as the ARB compressor wiring harness I would have much rather just been given a box of wire and connectors. It so totally for a jeep or something and was a PIA to make look nice on the tacoma.
I'm gonna look into those tuffie boxes. For some reason I thought I'd be able to fit the air hose in there too when it was mounted but nope. The tuffie boxes look allot bigger.

That may be so but i still use it for everything lol. Have pulled old tractors with flat tires, old metal sheds, anchors out the ground and all with the stuff. It's incredibly strong stuff for the size. I keep a 3000' spool of it in my shop, have at least 100' in the truck too just in case.

This old shed still had crap in it. We pulled it over 1000 feet with muletape. No problem. The conduit it was rolling on broke after about 200' so then we pulled the shed right on the ground. the muletape held up fine.
