i love having the garage under. does it connect to your basement?

Walk in from the garage, and go right in to the basement. It's not so much a basement though... I don't really know what it's called, but it's a living space. We use it as a play room for the oldest, not that he likes to go down there and play that much yet, but I'm sure he will once he gets a bit older, along with his sister when she's old enough.

 

Mine was spec-built without a garage. Where the garage would normally be was a laundry room and a 4th bedroom (which became winter motorcycle storage, lol)

No, but a garage would have been nice. It was a requirement when we started looking for a different house!

Mine is same deal. 2 garages on right side looking at it. They connect to basement that was supposed to be a game room with a pool table and wet bar but it turned into a room for my girls when they were younger.

 

Definitely love having one. Didn't have one before when I lived with my parents. So when I got engaged and we started looking for a house, a garage was a must. Especially since the wife didn't get to use the garage at her parent's house either.

Same here. Had plans to turn in into a room for myself, but the wife shot that down fast, even before the first one was born.

 

We looked again at a couple of trailers at Flagg and after some deliberation, we've put a deposit on a used camper they just took in. I should be hearing back today or tomorrow. I ordered a Tekonsha P3 on Amazon (Prime shipping) on Friday and installed it yesterday. Hopefully this thing is sitting in my driveway in time for the first of my summer road trips to Vermont in a few weeks.

Incredibly easy. They knocked some down on the price of the camper right out of the gate and when I asked about bundling in a WD/SC hitch, the sales person had to check with the owner, but she was able to get me $125 gift certificate to their retail shop toward one.

 

I had a Reese straightline hitch for mine. It was awesome, the TT got out of line once while coming up 295 we went over an expansion joint and the road was being repaved, so it JUMPED sideways but got right back inline

 

Yeah, this thing isn't huge, but it's not a tiny light weight pop-up either. 20' long, with a GVW of 5000lbs (3766lbs dry) and a tongue weight of ~490lbs. It's within the limits of the truck and the tandem axles will help keep it in line a little I think, but that's still a lot of trailer if it got moving in the wrong direction. I thought the extra peace of mind the hitch will bring is worth it, better safe than sorry.

 

Even if within the limits of the truck, a good W/D setup will make for a better towing experience. I know my dad always used to use one with his trailer even though he had plenty of capacity with his diesel. It just helped level the truck out and make the trailer follow the truck better on the highway.

 

What can't you buy on Amazon anymore

Eammon, I did the same thing, bought the brake controller on Amazon so I'd have it in a couple days. I also bought the ball mount for the new trailer since my 2" won't work. Gotta love Amazon.
