    Got mine after returning the first one due to figment issues. Version 2 fit like a champ. The 2 notches fit great. Worked with Vince on the return and sending the new back. Great communication and sent my new one to me right away. Thank you very much. I HIGHLY recommend this for your tailgate.

    We are no longer going to offer v1.0 but we have a few in stock. Since we made mods it doesn't make sense to keep selling v1.0 when 2.0 is working well. If you want the V1.0 PM me.

    The part comes with a free tool and shipping when you apply the code "TC-FORUMS". The tool is still a great price.

    We will be offering our products on Amazon in the next few weeks, but buying direct will still be a better deal.

    Just went through the inventory, I do have many v1.0 locks available and we are catching up on the v2.0 versions.

    The issue with v1.0 is it does not fit all

    2005-2015 Tacoma's. If you want one, PM me some pictures of the hinge are first. Version 1.0 may require you to use Tomwill's method to install (see previous post). If people are interested in the v1.0, they are still good parts.

    Just curious if the remaining v1.0 supply could be retooled with the indents, maybe calling it v1.1?

    That might help sell the remaining supply.

    Yes they can be reworked however touching up the powder coat is not easy, so they would need to be sent out to get recoated.

    It is not real important, but aluminum can still oxidize. The two tone ones look neat, maybe just a clear coat would be good. Will post a picture of a few that were reworked.

    With variations from truck to truck which make the v1.0 part difficult for some and fairly easy for others, we had to adjust our product which makes it more usable for the majority of the trucks out there. One thing is we do not want to make this too easy to install because it will be easier to remove if you have the right tools and some time. Complexity is our friend in this case.

    Having multiple layers of security is also important and like many have said the more you can slow down the determined thief, the more likely they will move on and target the unprotected truck. So tell your friends, co-workers to get something on their truck even if it is not one of our tailgate locking devices do something and don't wait.

    We have received multiple emails from 2016 Tacoma owners. One person told me, in his area the majority of 2016 have had the tailgate stolen. We are working a version for the 2016 that will be out soon.

    I think I got lucky with the install. Was expecting to remove the hinge per post but wiggled the angle in perfectly. Great Product recommended to all my buddies.
