who knows, I had a lady last week almost side swiped me, she changed lanes into my lane and when she heard my tires almost lock up she swerved back into the lane she came from by that time my horn was blowing. she flipped me off, al I could do is shake my head and try to calm my nerves. note to self don't slam on brakes and jerk the wheel. good thing I was only going 45 and not freeway speeds.

 

i was almost hoping i'd hit her just to upgrade my vehicle on someone elses dime.

 

I sometimes think that as well. but the adrenaline kicks in and those thoughts go out the window. and im glad to have had a near miss instead of a collision.

 

Well, bottom line is, the person at fault is the person who hit the other person. Regardless of what the other person is doing. If you hit them for most reasons, you're at fault. Brake checking someone and them hitting you is their fault because they werent following at a safe distance and you can easily say you saw an animal cross the road in front of you. If that lady had sideswiped you, totally her fault. Regardless of your speed, where in the lane you are, whatever you are doing, if she tries to merge in to the lane where you are, especially without a blinker, she is 100% at fault. When I get tailgated I always come in to stop lights a little to hot and slow down quickly in hopes the D bag will rear end me so I get get a new bumper/rear end.

 

Does anybody know if that is a brute force hi clearance bumper?

Brake cheking is not legal. And with the rise in dash cams i wouldnt advise it. But coming in hot and slowing quickly now that i like. But in most cases are heavy ass trucks with armor and bummpers will almost always have a farther braking dist

Help me find a bed rack, I'm losing my sanity quickly today...

I want the typical tubular rack
Need to be as high as the cab so I can use it to carry my kayak.
I really would like it to use the existing rail for attaching it so I don't have to put any holes in my truck.

Who makes something like this?? (I see several, but not cab-height, and not utilizing the track. )

 

Mine is an all pro I bought it used so I'm not sure if they still make them that high

I vote BAMF for cab height. That rack looks super legit

 

Heres is one from last week. Guy beside me was smoking pot and road raging on anthor guy in bumper to bumper trafific. The car behind me didnt want to let him merge so he started yelling and waving his arms while the passenger was recording the whole thing. Im not sure that recording yourself road raging and driving under the influence of pot will help him in anyway, but it really goes to show how stupid some pepole are.

 

That's what I'm finding. All the manufacturers are lowering them so that RTTs aren't in the wind...
