I asked a dealership about the 2017 TRD PRO, and they told me it was going to be very difficult to get my hands on one, since it would be a "limited production model".... I understand that they won't produce as many PRO's as OR's, but I'm willing to put a deposit down... are the PROs really going to be that exclusive?

FWIW I was able to put $500 down with a dealer to be first in line on a '17 built to my spec. Manager said expected delivery in Oct. (I posted above). They didn't say when they would be able to do the build allocation, however.

    That's what I'm talkin' about!

Like to get rid of my SR5 auto for one of those 6-Speed Sport manuals......But I guess the sunroof ain't gonna happen.

I think the sunroofs are only available on the Limited.

Hopefully is will become a separate option for 2017 and not be bundled ONLY with the tech package.

A question for anyone who has already placed an order for a MY2017 Tacoma, were you able to negotiate a price before the order and placing a down payment for procurement, or are dealerships making you wait for an official released MSRP on the MY2017?

I was not , when I placed my order on 5/5 pricing was not out. I have a long time relationship with my dealer and get a set amount over invoice so whatever it is it is. Production starts in July and expecting my truck in August.

I was able to confirm my price deal with the new car manager. Essentially I worked a deal on a special order '16...and then just said I want to wait the extra month or so and get a '17. They were cool with it. They predict an Oct delivery or so.

I did give them my credit card number for a refundable down payment, but they won't charge it until the details on the MY17's are released. Very good deal on the truck; so I am happy as long as everything goes smoothly this fall. Call Jordan at Village Pointe Toyota in Omaha, NE if you want. Southwest flies there.

Happy to say I've placed an order:
    -2017 Quicksand Tacoma TRD OR
    -Manual Transmission
    -V6 Tow

The dealership required a refundable down payment and would not start discussion on price until MSRP is released. I don't like not having a final number for the truck, but I trust this dealership for its awards and rating and my experience with their sales people that they will not try to screw me over on the final price. Looking hopefully at August or September for arrival!

They aren't providing any pricing yet, but I expect invoice to be the same between 2017 and 2016 as stated by others. I also hope that by ordering and the dealer not needing to pay for any lot fees/interest on holding the truck they will be more flexible with bringing the price closer to invoice + the tow package.

That TRD Quick Sand for $35300 looks like a decent deal if you have the money and feel like you will enjoy/use the extra package options, otherwise I would wait for Toyota to release 2017 pricing if you're concerned about that and just wait for the vehicle you want. No vehicle purchase in my opinion should need to be rushed unless you are in dire need of a car!

Certainly am not in a rush for a car. That TRD QS and the TRD Inferno I posted above, are exactly to my specs.

I don't want the tonneau cover, but I do want the 6MT and moonroof and 4x4. So its as close to my spec as possible.

Just debating on whether getting this truck in about 2 weeks for this price, or a 17.
