I just put deposit on 2017 19fkth sportsman classic toy hauler dry weight 2530# and 420# dry hitch weight. My sportster weighs 600# wet also figure in 400# gear and 100 for propane/battery. Not filling the fresh water tank.

My truck is 2005 tacoma prerunner with auto trans and factory tow pkg. 4.0 v6 with leaf spring tsb completed is 6,500 max

A guy on the lot said its too big for my tacoma? He said I will be over tounge weight of 650 probably more around 700 tounge weight?

Here are full trailer specs of camper

Tongue weight has to do a lot with how you load the camper.

I wasn't over tongue wieght with a Jayco trailer with 1000 pounds more weight. I think you'll be fine. Trailer dealers love to tell you that you need more truck then you have. Unless you have a minivan. Then they want to sell you right to the max package.

The dealer should let you hitch it, if not I would find another dealer. I would never buy a trailer without being able to at least hitch it to try it out.

Is the dealer trying to sell you something else? Is it used and he wants to sell you new?
I can't imaging why the taco wouldn't pull that.

Its new,no hes not telling me,s guy that was on the lot shopping. We were talking and I told him were not gonna always have the motorcycle with us. He said to watch my toungue weight, without weight in back of it he said it could blast the tougue weight down.

If he is telling you that you could exceed payload with a motorcycle, the tongue weight, and the passenger weight then he is right. The Tacoma doesn't have that high a payload and depending on the size of the motorbike you could easily blow through your payload capacity.

Well he did say 3700 lbs ready to camp, which is well under what the taco can handle. Make sure to use 4 instead of D on the shifter ..

Edit: didn't see the motorcycle comment .. need more info

The dealer is right, you're already close to your payload with the sportster, gear and passengers. A few hundred pounds of tongue weight will likely put you over. Airbags would help the truck ride "right" with the extra weight, but that doesn't change the fact that the axles, brakes, etc. weren't designed for it. Should've bought a Tundra. Some days I feel I goofed there too.

Yeah I just saw that this trailer is a toy hauler  I thought he meant throwing a bike in the back of the truck.

I'm guessing maybe the dealer had the same confusion.

My calculations say with the bike in the trailer this fellow is looking at over 4K pounds in the trailer. Still well within the Tacoma's capabilities. I have a trailer that weighs in about there, not a toy hauler though and it's double axle which helps, and I didn't have that much trouble pulling it when I used the Tacoma for a few years.

Guys im sorry for confusion. Yes its a 19ft. 2017 kz 19fkth Toy hauler. Bike will be in toy hauler.
    Camper weighs 2560# dry
    Sportster weighs 600# wet
We figure 400# in gear inside camper
Another 100# for 20 gallon propane and battery. Not gonna fill fresh water tank. I guess i need to add 80# for WD hardware
Im also adding 100 for 1350 btu roof a/c that was added option. That comes to 3840# ready to camp. Not sure what im forgetting? I think i got it all. Also were will take the harley sportster about half time. I like the open layout of this compared to little TT

I have towed a 19ft trailer loaded with water and gear hundreds of miles with my v6 it shouldn't be a problem, even with the bike, which will be in the rear of the trailer, helping reduce your tongue weight.

Like the open floor plan. Both beds folded down will make a king

That changes things!!!! That trailer should be fine. If you were to put the bike in the box and try to tow that it'd be a different story. Like others say, keep the truck in 4 rather than D, and take it easy. That's a nice trailer!

Ok iron so lets say one weekend we leave the harley home. Dry toungue weight on the sticker says 420#

So I can just load cooler and gear towards back eliminating extra toungue weight. My wife also said we should make any gear in my tacoma truck bed should be forward of the rear axle of truck. Shes been doing allot of reading
