    Lots baby!
The bottom end of a SD motor was forged. HO motors had cast crank/rods.

So one way to look at is if I want to be cheap and use the cheap gas I need the SD, but if I don't mind more expensive fuel go HO?

    None, but willing to learn.
That would be one way to look at it but if you can afford the '73 in the picture the cost of gas isn't even a blip on your radar. The other way to look at is think what you can do with that motor, a custom cam, aftermarket heads, and higher octane fuel ...

I've always had a thing for the Dino... Beautiful car. Used to be one of the "cheap" (ok, less expensive) Ferraris. A lot of Ferrari snobs even said it wasn't a Ferrari. Prices have gone nuts. Not that I could ever afford it even when it was "cheap".

No, Dinos are sweet! Most people can't afford the poor man's version of anything, let alone the rich man's version... I don't subscribe to that nonsense. I'd be way more at ease driving in an old Dino than a new LaFerrari. Since I was on a roll, I went to the dirt track in the evening too...

That was fun. I hadn't been to a dirt track race since they Closed Ascot in Gardena, CA in 1990...

My HS friend bought one of these and was going to restore it
AMC Javelin. Can't recall the year he bought.
