You can take and put the ladder where you want 30 deg pitch and then take the knobs on the ladder and twist them a few times to mark where you need to drill that will line it up.

Just pulled the trigger on the REI deal for a Tepui kukenam ruggadized. The deal is unbeatable being in the interior of Alaska with free shipping to my local REI. Everything else is severa hundred dollars to ship to me here. I had my eye on the Cascadia Mt Shasta extended for a while due to the extra annex space and overhang, but for the price and what I truly need, this will accomplish the mission. Very very excited to see this and get it installed. Now I just need to fab up some bed bars! (because those are a smal fortune to ship here too)

It had the ruggadized listed as green, however I know it should be grey. I'm contacting REI to confirm everything as it still says green on the order receipt.

UPDATE: got off phone with REI and it will indeed be green so I may have gotten an older model (unsure when the green color came off the list). Let's just hope it isn't the XL. @TepuiTents any assistance would be awesome!

I was getting about 15-16mpg before I got my RTT. I put on front and rear plate bumpers and a RTT I'm getting about 14-15mpg highway. Shouldn't really worry about MPG anyway when you have an offroad rig.

@SixthSnail how are you getting your RTT on the 4runner? We would like to utilize my wife's 4runner for camping also and I'm just curious how you load it without damaging anything.

Start doing shoulder presses in the gym and find a friend who does the same. It's not easy by any means. That is part of the reason I leave mine up all the time.

I'm looking at building a trailer to keep it on all the time though.

Couldn't you use a moving blanket or something over the rear and slide it up? It seems like it would offer enough protection since you only really need to get one side high enough to touch the rack, then shoulder press it up and slide it across the roof rack. I have to do this to get it on my rack solo. Pain in the butt, but it works.

Yeah but the way frontrunner racks work are awkward. The tent sits on some mounting points.

Also the "spoiler" will get in the way. See here.

We use the blanket method on the Taco. Works but it scratches the hell out of my bed rack. I guess we'd just need to use a thicker blanket when we attempt the 4runner mounting. Thanks guys!

Four tall guys converge on my driveway and hoist it up there, it's not so bad if you have someone at each corner
