So this is a first time post for me but I need some help. I have done tons of reading on here and really appreciate all the information you guys provide. I have a 2006 TRD sport that I bought with 90,000 miles on it. When I bought it it had rancho shocks and struts on it that were shot. Basically my plan from information gathered from this site was to get the recalled leaf springs installed (which the dealership did last week) and also swap out struts and shocks at the same time with 5100's set at 1.75" which should make my truck ride level. Well I have the new leafs on and I did the 5100's install this weekend and now I am sitting really low in the back by about 1". I thought with the TSB/Recalled springs I would gain a little height in back and setting the 5100's at 1.75" would make it ride about level from all my reading on here. Is that right? So now I am wondering if maybe the coils on the front that had the rancho struts are stock coils or not? I figured they were since they have the color coded dots on them. Let me know what you guys think. I can order the 1.5" 3 leaf progressive from wheelers and raise the back end up but I'm afraid 1.5" might be too much.

My front height from ground fender is about 36.5
My rear height from ground to fender is about 35.5
BTW I have brand new 265/70r17 to put on as soon as I finish up the suspension stuff.

    1. TSB springs don't add height
    2. Billies at .85 is usually near level.
    3. Measure truck height from center of hub to fender, otherwise your tires will make your measurements different than everyone else's.
    4. If you ever put anything in the back of your truck, you should at least have an AAL anyway.
    5. Welcome to the Rabbit Hole.

    Simple OME/884/AAL lift. 32” WP’s
I'd say Add a leaf. The Toytec 2" gave me just 2" and the ride is very good with better load capacity. There are 1.5" AALs available, but not sure the actual lift. IMO you want at latest 0.5" of rake or the truck appears nose high, but this is my subjective opinion.

I am 37" to fender up front on my 4 cyl access cab with 5100s @ 1.75, stock coils, and 265/75R16 hankook dynapros, so I'd say your front height is consistent with stock coils on your double cab. I just had the recall leaves put on and was surprised at how little lift they gave me over my original busted ass 2+1 leaves. I got 1/2-3/4" in rear and sit dead level on fender measurements. However, think about what you consider level, because I believe the rear fender arches higher than the front fender. My truck looks like it has bro lean even though fender measurements are the same. I read on another post to measure from ground to the bottom of your door as far front and as far back as you can on the cab. When I do that, I am 1/4" high in front over just the short distance of the cab, so even more than 1/4" higher from very front of truck to very back. I'm going to be getting a progressive AAL which will give me flexibility of lifting 1.5 or 2" in rear, as I am assuming the new recall leaf pack will settle even lower after some time.

I would say lower front if your not planning wheels and tires,, if you like the height install a progressive AAL 1.5 inch, unless you tow a lot, and/or carry heavy loads, then get a single AAL

I just had my replacement leafs put on by Toyota today. Overall very happy with the new ride, considering my originals had 102,XXX miles. The new ones defiantly seem a little more sturdy. When I asked about the Billy's at the dealership they told me the 5100's are junk, but I've heard more good reviews then negative so I'm still sticking with them. I've been advised to buy the whole 5100 pre-built kit through @HeadStrong Off-Road with the 885 coils and single AAL option. This should level everything out, Marie says the AAL's should fit on the warranty leaf just the same as the old set. I'll update on the progress when I've made some headway. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.:headbang:

I just put bilstein 5100's set at the max height and then put a 1.5 inch block in the rear. I'm running 265/75r16 ko2's. Rides great and looks great.

Just place my order tonight so I'll let you know how the AALS level out with the TSBs once they are installed. Stoked

Everything all installed. Found out my tires all have broken belts so I'm resolving that today. May be a bit of an upgrade
