Will check them out. Planning on stopping by REI to sit in/on a few too.

Awesome! I've never been kayaking before and want to try it out. I think I really need to just take a couple tours and/or rent a few times and try it out.

That tandum kayak will be heavy and tuff to steer if you are doing anything other than touring lake side; or simply pointing it down river.

Also- i only use sit IN kayak- ocean or rapids. I use a spray skirt for some of the faster water here and Western NC.

Sit ON kayaks are super stable, great for fishing though.

Check out Confluence brands- they are based in Easly, SC and sell internationally. I have two Daggers made by them. :)

Yes! I reccommend renting several different kayaks first. You may find some feel heavy and unsteerable in the water, while others glide straight and smooth.

That seems to be the best course of action especially since it's all new to me. I'm going to see if there's anywhere to go to rent while I'm still up here in DC. I know they're all over the place in the HHI area.

    Morning everyone

@ChamYota can I take some measurements off your snorkel install? I know you live closer is why I ask. Just not wanting 2 or more unneeded holes in my truck :anonymous:

May be a dumb question....but how deep of water/mud do you have to go through to need a snorkel?? Seems like the cab would overflow by the time you'd need one? :notsure:

are cabs are pretty water tight but are air intake sits in the fender on the pass side so its a shit design so a snorkle is good but here in the low country we flood alot i've been in water up to the bottom of my fenders and in this pic you can see how high i set and thats with 33s the sec pic is with 35s dont mind that tire its a 40 lol

It looks like adam's truck is real high but the secret is that he's just really short. Don't be fooled...

Adam, that guy with the front driveshaft finally text me back and he still has it. Going to see about making arrangements to grab it.
