Ever been pulled over and gotten out of a ticket, citation, or even an arrest? Ever had your military status, or your job get you out also? :D

    Post your experience here.

Ill start the thread off with my story.

I was just off of active duty by two weeks and was going back to school and commuting to work every weekend at my old job.

I had just gotten off a graveyard shift and was headed home to my dads house to crash out. As I passed through town I got pulled over in my wifes rig.

Turned out I had expired tags, but that was just the start of my problems. He asked for my ID first. I produced my Military ID. "Thats not an license" the cop snapped!. Gee oops, I gave him my lisence, the problem was is that it was a backup that happened to be expired. ( I had valid one, just not on me.)
    Damn strike 2
He then asked for my insurance and registration.
I fumbled around in the glove box, console, and under the seats. Turns out my wife had "cleaned" the rig and removed all that crap!

    End state, I was missing the following;
    • VALID Drivers License
    • Good tags
    • Proof of insurance
    • Registration
I thought I was toast so I explained to the cop how I just got back from the sandbox, came off active duty, and my wife trashed my paperwork.
Well, my sob story must have worked cause he let me off with just a scolding.

    Booya, thats one helluva ticket(s) I avoided.

I don't talk about mine. Plausible Deniability. Besides that, I get away WAY too often and bragging about my luck won't help any. I will say this, I have been pulled over about double my age and only have two tickets to show for it. That is all.

ive raced a cop before, he was driving an SUV, and was right on my bumper, i sped up to about 85-90 in a 55 not thinking it was a cop, because it was dark outside. He turned on his lights, when he got to the window i told him there was no excuse for him to be "right on my ass", then he joked sayin i couldnt have out ran him in my truck anyway, i was doing a pretty good job of it before the blue lights went on

I've only been pulled over once in my life. That was when I had my Impala SS. Got pulled over for doing 65 in a 50 on a 2 lane roadway. Happened out of state, got no points and was a $58 fine so I can't complain haha.

Pulled over for speeding 55 in a 35. Cop took all my info, started the ticket and got a other call on the radio. Tossed back my ID and said, this is your lucky day. :woot:

I got pulled over going to work last year, luckily I was in my uniform and there were some fires going on down south. He pulled over two of us. I had no clue who the other car was, and he came to me first, saw me in uniform, asked where I was going. Then told me to be safe, then asked if I knew the car in front and I said nope, he said have a good day. I was doing 75 in a 55

Ha! That is awesome. I mean really tho no reason to really give someone a ticket if they are speeding in the pursuit of doing something completely lawful, like going to grandma's house, or work, etc

I got pulled over driving my cousin's CRX
legite reason tail light was out, but I explained
that I was from out of town visiting family in Chicago
and wasn't my car, and the other 2 have been drinking
so, he runs all the stuff and comes back ok... and he starts getting
all bent out of shape. saying he should carry someone to jail lol
I'm thinking to myself, My aunt and uncle are on the police department
My cousin is a state of IL representative. another works for the Sec. of state
and my brother's father-in-law is the head of the IL dept. of transportation
so I get his name from his badge and he said what do you need that for
lol, by that time I know he was married to my other cousin on my mom's side,
so he finally says get going, no more driving tonight...
and I know my cousin Jason flipped him the bird as we were leaving
but anyway the nextday: one call, thats all
my cousin she said "he was with a trainee and had to look big and bad"
and she already took care of it, lol

im a pretty law abiding person..I only got a seatbelt ticket once, but I didnt get pulled over, the cop was standing in the middle of the road, in a 45mph zone, and they had a cop car up before him "scanning" vehilces to get pulled over. I think the only reason they got me was because I dont have a front plate on my truck. Having firefighter plates, and a badge in my wallet really helps out alot too lol.

Another time I was going to a house fire, and its a 35mph zone, and I was cruising at 65 with the blue light on..Passed a town cop while he was going the other way, and he never gave me a second look. I thank my lucky stars for that.

I was running late trying to get to the airport after christmas exodus last year and i was doing 75 in a 55 but right as the cop turned his lights on i passed a sign that said 35. Bam double the speed limit. Cop walks up to the window all heated and asks why the hell are you going so fast. I said officer im late for my plan and im trying to make the flight so i can head back to the sandbox. He looked at me and said be safe. Woot double the speed limit is suspenssion of license for a year and you go to jail lol.

My badge seems to jump out of my wallet for some reason if I do get pulled over. I know most of the cops around here but every now and again I get snagged by a state trooper and I dont have a front plate and its law here but then the fire plate helps when they see it. *knocks on wood*

double the speed limit is instant loss of license for a period of time:eek:

so 35+35=70..I learned my lesson real quick, and I dont speed to fires anymore. My life/property isnt worth a house.

Were even taught in fireschool, that the emergency personnell is #1, everyone/thing is #2 in priority.

The first time, I was 15 and on the free way going 80 in a 65. Got three tickets. Speeding, no license and no turn signal when I pulled over. Next, I had a permit luckily but no adult. I got pulled over for no headlights but he let me call a friend to drive me home. :) then, last year, I was on highway az87 going 76 in a 45 and he gave me a civil traffic ticket. After that, I got pulled over for not have my lights on, again and no ticket. Lastly, I got pulled over for no headlights but this time I had a burnt fuse but no ticket. Somewhere in there I had a picture taken on the I10 for speeding but my step dad took responsibility.

It is not that I am horrible, it is that the people around me make me look bad to cops. Most of them were on curvy roads in the deep south and I learned how to drive in the mountains of NC. Plus I like to drive fast and not having a license plate up front in states like Texas doesn't help either.

It helps to talk it out with the cops and not be an ass to them. I don't play dumb and own up to whatever they pulled me over for. This usually ends up as a warning. I have simmered down a bit, only been pulled over twice in the last three months. :D
