I have come to the conclusion that the black paint is not of the best quality. I have owned and cleaned black vehicles my entire life and never had one as scratch and stain prone as this truck. I have two spots of bird shit residue that will not come out. I have tried using Meguires hand products with very minimal cut (Ultimate Compound, Polish)with a hand pad with minimal cut to no avail. I really don't think I should have to break out my Porta cable and high cut pads on a paint job this new. Anyone got any bird crap residue tips?

I'm going to try the 25% vinegar idea in a spot, I'll report back with the results

I'm having issues with water spotting as well. I want to be careful and limit rubbing with anything so I even bought the master blaster to dry the car off. I was surprised to still have water spots after using the forced air - I do wish it did not have heated air. I was wondering if the heated air was causing the spotting. Anyway, I'm resorting to using master blaster followed by touching up with soft microfiber with chemical guys Hybrid V7. Wish I did not have to use anything after drying it with forced air.

As far as the hood - I took it to the extreme and put clear bra on the whole hood. For me, it did not make much sense to just cover 18" or just up to the hood scoop. I have to say it looks really good! Considered doing the whole fenders as well, but opted for the 18 ( maybe 24").

You might try this thread. I never had much luck though. If I keep mine I may get it wrapped in camo sometime down the line.

I've been using chemical guys after wash and one of their large plush microfiber towels to dry with great results and no water spots

I wouldn't call a Tacoma unless it's 1st Gen compact. It's midsized. That said it is going to seem pretty small if you are use to a full size

So I used Mequiars Gold Class Carnauba plus on my hood. First wax on the truck other than the front bezel which was done with Mequiars Ultimate. Which is better, actually I cannot tell other than the Gold cleans those little water spots where the Ultimate did not. Not perfect but will do for now.

Anybody have these wheels on their black taco but in matte grey instead? Would love to see a pic if so.

I've been using it with great results so far. Next, I'm going to put it in front of my pressure washer and see how it does on my house windows. I'm going to just pressure-wash them clean and allow them to air-dry. That'll be a pretty good test for how well it works.

Yeah the car washes around here have those filters on the "Spot-Free Rinse" cycle. You can tell the car wash businesses that change them on a regular basis. Don't bother me in the summer because I dry my truck off by hand. Winter is when I gripe about them not changing the filters.
