Long Travel BS Thread

    Found out my problem. When Iconverted to disc brakes I wassupposed to get a residual pressure valve instead of the bpv. The residualholds pressure to the discs. Like a $20 part. In case anyone wants to know.

    So what it's a check valve basically? To ensure pressure to the disks at all times?

    I went through the same issues when I put my Full Floater with discs in.

    You still want to keep the BPV to adjust the rear pressure to keep the rears from locking up to soon.

    Awesome, that was my next question. Lol. Thanks because I was wondering if I still needed to keep that in. So should that residual run after the bpv or before?

    I would run it after, but I don't think it really matters. It just keeps 2lbs of psi after the valve. I still have the stock LSPV and will replace it when I get around to swapping tundra brakes on the front and new calipers in the rear. My GM units broke a bleeder a while ago and they are fairly cheap to replace.

    Haha that's the problem with LT trucks they are do damn high most jacks wont reach!
    I have used my engine hoist for lifting trucks more than engines especially when installing 10 foot travel rear leafpacks!

    Those 12 ton jackstands are $100-150 at Harbor freight and they're made for rvs, really strong and they're pretty damn tall. If I recall correctly I can have the front suspension drooped with the wheels/tires still on, with the jackstands on the first setting.

    IMG_1258.jpg Update on my rear build: Got the spare tire carrier out and welded on a tube to the rear to hold the frame in place. Gonna be boxing it hopefully tomorrow. Not sure what im going to be doing with brakes and all that jazz. if you guys have goood pics of how you re-mounted the brake stuff feel free to post them

    I see a lot of people, myself included, run a tubed or boxed (doesnt matter) cross member halfway between where your last tube is at the end of your frame and your axle, despite having the frame boxed. Im sure the more experienced guys in here will chime in but more support doesnt hurt, also good work on the progress! Nice job!
