It would be hard with open diffs and stock height, but not impossible. The group of heavily modded Jeeps and Rangers that passed us on the trail after we got @MADSTEEZE unstuck were all locked except for one guy in a lifted Cherokee. He was the older dude that helped us out when we needed it and had a ton of experience on that trail so it can be done, I'd be really careful without a lift though, I did it without banging up my sides but my skids took a hard beating.

That's what I was thinking. Pick some good lines and I should be ok. I'm going to have the same struggle as @eon_blue though since I'm stick too haha

On the bright side I just got a new gas tank skid from the junkyard
Yeah I definitely see what you're saying. Hard to say without actually being out there and trying. One thing I do have going is a pretty tall stock lift like @Jimmynolife was saying :fingerscrossed:

You'll be fine, just keep it in low 1st gear and pick your lines. If you can't make it up something just back up a bit and give it a bump

That was my issue too, it was my first time crawling over rocks in a manual and I stalled out a few times trying to feather the gas to keep from going too hard over something. In that video where I bottomed out I gave it too much gas I think.

Yeah that's the way to do it
You had the right idea. Feathering the throttle and keeping traction can be the difference between making it and not sometimes. You were doing pretty damn good I'd say based on those videos. I probably would've been spinning my wheels, and you have way more torque than I do

We definitely need to get your CSC fixed though because that will make your life easier when stalling on those steep hills

I think it has something to do with cancelling the clutch to start a manual.

Don't be man. Happens to the best of us. At least you didn't do serious damage
Bingo. Its a switch that allows you to not have to start the engine while pushing the clutch in

Okay so Toyota just called me back, you guys ready for this?

According to the service tech, after test driving my vehicle they were able to duplicate the issue, grunting noise shifting into second under high RPM, reverse having a difficult time engaging, etc. etc. They checked the clutch, tranny fluid, all the basics. They then noticed that I have aftermarket floor mats (cheapo weather tech knock-offs I bought off of Amazon) and the tech says that it was bunched up underneath my clutch pedal not allowing it to fully engage/disengage, thus creating the issue???

I don't know whether to feel extremely stupid for not noticing that or that they're BS'ing me. Either way, he says he fixed the floor mat and test drove it again, transmission operated just fine....

I don't know whether to laugh, slam my head on my desk or what. But it really just seems impossible that that's what it was. I mean....ugh lol. We'll see.

I'll pick her up after work and report back :tinfoilhat:

Tell me about it lol. I'm still in total disbelief. But not having to drop coin on a clutch or transmission repair is a huge relief so I'm holding out hope haha.

So who wants to hit up the Miller Jeep Trail this weekend? :boom::D

Thinking back on it, I anchored those mats to the floor this weekend right before doing the trail, and they were in the right spot. This explanation of theirs really seems unlikely. We'll see.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Look at the bright side? It's not a new transmission swap?

All kidding aside, please get some sliders on your rig asap. That truck is pretty to go messing it up. A mild lift wouldn't hurt either, but sliders should be on the top of your list.

Agreed, I was a little on the fence about which to do first but sliders seems like the best route
