Tone your thread title down so someone doesn't think you're in emergency need like someone stuck on a trail somewhere, which happens monthly.

    Also, read.

In all seriousness, if you want help on ideas for mods you have to give us way more detail. What do you like, what direction do you want to go in, 4x4 or street, form or function, budget, etc. Welcome to TW :mudding:

Pretty much exactly what eon_blue said. If we don't know what you're thinking (speaking for myself, not a psychic) we can't really help you. Give us an idea of what you're looking to do! @1997tacomashortbed

I'm looking to make my truck more functional, I want to be able to haul and store more while also having more power and efficiency

Some background on me; I'm 17 and work for my local city pool. Last summer I saved up $4,000 for a new truck but the day that we where gonna sell my Tacoma, my dad cancelled it cause he claims "the Tacoma is a good work truck"

To haul and and store more, you might want to look to upgrading your suspension to a better setup, especially if it's still on the stock suspension from '97. Better leaf setup in the back will help with hauling.

As for more power, there's really only one way to add any substantial power to these engines and that's to super/turbocharge them. But that's really pricey ($3k and up). Little things like a better air intake, headers and exhaust don't do anything noticeable for power gains. But they can look/sound cool.

Your pops is a smart man, a 1997 Tacoma in good working condition is something to hold onto! Is your truck 4x4 or 2wd?

It's a 4x4. I agree that's it's a tough truck but not for what I need it for. I help my friends out on their farms so I need towing and bed capacity.

I already have a couple, when I said bed capacity I meant to be able to load heavier things into the bed before it can't drive
