Has anyone put bucket seats in a regular cab by replacing the bench?

Took out the bench seat and but in leather racing bucket seats from Schucks, thus making mine a 2 seater. Put a leather steering wheel cover on.
    yes i did to mine.

mine is a 1997 regular cab with a 2.7 4cyl engine and auto transmission with the shifter on the floor making a bench seat very impractical.

i bought it used recently with around 178,000 miles on it and the bench had cigarette burns all over it.

i was repulsed by the rotten bench that i had gotten so i bought leather bucket seats from this guy who had bought em at shucks. he did the work for me though by taking out the bench.

we had to drill holes into the bottom of the truck and install brackets to fit the seats into, so i dont know what year yours is, but most likely you will have to drill holes as well. i still need a center console, any idea of where i could find one?

So I won't needthe brackets on the bench? The seats came with the slider rails but no brackets. And I saw consoles on eBay.

60/40 bench in my '99....makes a world of difference on my back. And since they were from the smae generation, the seat belts were compatable.

idk why it would be lol

in our gens the only real hitch is to get the airbag sensor in the seat to match up (different from buckets and bench)

go on customtacos and look i think a few guys on there did it already

the 09-10 have airbags in the seat. if you trade seats out the light will stay on.

there probably is if you know the resistance of the airbag unit. and you cant pin it out or the meter could trigger the airbag. How can you put the weight sensor in other seats too?

i have been wanting to do this for a long time i hate the bench seat with a passion!

but wouldnt the seats and brackets from the SR5 single cab set up work with the 05+ tacos? i dont see why not i mean its pretty much the same truck or m i wrong?

also for the center console im not quite sure but i think you may need different brackets to change that out too i was talkin to one of the parts guys about this a few weeks ago but he wasnt really sure neither m i haha

but hope it works out for you. i think a write up for this would be much appreciated :D

buy the leather racing seats at shucks if you cant find stock toyota bucket seats. you dont need brackets, but if u dont put em in u cant scoot the seat forward to adjust legroom for shorter and taller drivers so i highly suggest that you get the buckets. you do realize that your truck will only be a 2 seater now?????

i dont know about the 09-10 i wouldn't think they would have airbags in the bench seat. Everything is diffrent the connectors are diffrent nothing and i mean nothing matchs the only thing that does work is the seats bolt up fine. the buckles are diffrent i had to go to a junkyard and get buckles out of a 03 tacoma with bucket seats and they worked then had to do some wiring on that. As far as the seats i took all the wiring out of the bench and put it in the buckets even the pad in the passenger side that senses the weight. It is little bit of work and patience to do all of this but well worth it in the end. My truck is an 07 and the seats came out of a 06

Does it matter if I just have aftermarket racing seats?
