Shop said its not gear nor shim material. Something random self clearanced or could be threads from running tap through fill plug. Run it normal another 1000 miles (wheeling fine) and bring in. They'll change the oil for free and check it out.

You don't need to be? There's plenty in the 400k range... get a good interest rate and/or put a little bit down and you can have a 2k mortgage

I did lose faith and this was not a cheap purchase right now. I would have rather waited a year and see where the market was at, but my wife and mother-in-law wanted to get in now. MIL is floating the down payment, so had to roll with what she was looking to do (she's a real estate agent, so she knows the market). It is bleak though and if we had bought 1 year ago like we had wanted to we probably could have saved 50-100k.

400k? That is a mobile home where I'm at, it's ridiculous. Basically any decent 3 bedroom is 700k plus in my area, it really blows when looking for a home.

 

without 20% theres PMI. With little down that quickly becomes a 2000-2500 mortgage. no thanks.

 

I sold my house in Oakland last year thinking the bubble was gonna bust and it didn't. I could've got another 120k for it if I would've waited till 2016 to sell. And last I checked they are still going up.

 

So glad those days of big mortgages are behind us! Ours is $750 on a 15 year. The tourist traffic is likely just as bad as your city traffic but the scenery and access to outdoor activities is perfect!

Yeah, we looked south of the bridge for about 6 months and couldnt find anything in a 3 bedroom for half a mil. Finally found a good house in the wind tunnel and are happy. Wind bugs the wife, I like it, keeps things cool

Yeah true I guess. I always forget I had a VA loan. No PMI, no down, just spend 8 more years in high school.

 

That was my first impression. They look like drill chips. Or from a tap. Not your typical gear shrapnel. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It may take a few oil changes to get it all out or the R&P may just chew it up.

 

Yep, Im planning on staying in the house for at least 10 years making extra payments and then probably refi'ing to a 15 year for cheaper payments.

 

I'm putting my condo in San Jose on the market in a week and a half. 1000 sq/ft, listing for 650,000. It's insane but it will sell in a week.

My aunt just sold 2 duplex's in less then 24 hours for a combination of 65k over asking price...

She invested it all in 3 houses in Oregon.

Cali is crazy at the moment, market in bay area is ridiculous due to shortage of properties.

Yep San Jose is no better. That's crazy the amount for the sq/ft.
