That paddle is on my bucket list! I just have not had logistical support for return. I typically start at the dam, when it releases, then paddle to pump house. They now have a kayak put in right there!

When there is a series of storms, the Catawba dams are wide open; makes for a fast, exciting paddle!

yea we had my dad come pick us up from landsford at the end. it was a pretty awesome paddle. with two vehicles, you could probably leave one at landsford then take both kayaks up to the dam and paddle back to the truck. id be down to do that at some point! we could set up a TW paddle sesh...

we did it early January where we had short days (not recommended) and we did it in I think 8 or 9 hours. we had a lot of water in the river though so that helped us keep speed. we stopped a few times to mess around on the things we found along the way and my one buddy had to keep stopping because his sit-in had a leak and he had to empty it out a few times.

I plan on being there to watch it. Should be some epic crashes on that BMX Supercross track. Todays courses are way
different than what I grew up racing on. Back in the day we raced. Nowadays its about getting the holeshot and pumping all the jumps.

@Sandman614 I have a Warn M8000 that pulls up to 435A when the line pull is 8000lbs. Will a Blue Sea 285 Series 150A breaker be ok to use for the winch? According to Blue Sea, 300% (450A) of the breaker will trip between 5 and 10 seconds. If I'm pulling that much on a winch, I pull in short bursts to keep the heat down or will usually use a snatch block before putting too much tension on it.

Also, I have a Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse block and wondering how many amp breaker I need for the block itself.

    Thanks!

Damn I'm jealous at that price point! No way it'll fit (or can be made to fit) in a short bed?
