What you fail to forget is that the short block is sitting there which will be shipped back for analysis. The truck is not the issue at this point, the motor was. Even though the truck is fixed, the principal is that its under the lemon law of being in shop over 30 days. All we can hope for now is that Toyota is expedient in replacing Lindsay's truck.

Agreed. When the lemon law time ran out on the blown engine, corp should have built her a new truck and be handing her those keys right now. Dragging her through arbitration is asinine.

Well, truck was supposed to be ready Friday "at the latest Saturday" and still no truck today.
To add further insult to this whole mess, driving to work in this rental car a rock got kicked up and cracked my windshield. Going to be so screwed when I turn this this in. What a fucking nightmare.

Your insurance should cover rental. Unless, you took rental insurance, in which case you can turn it in, and the insurance you paid for there, will cover it.

I've had a cracked window in a rental...they didn't care when I returned it. I didn't take out extra rental insurance and it never went through mine...

...^^^... IMO ... you were very lucky.

Enterprise and especially Penske Trucks ... check everywhere for micro-dings (especially front glass) from my experiences.

I routinely video and photo all rentals ... and when I drop off vehicles for service too.

Had some bad surprises in the past.

Lindsay, Maybe Toyota has put a hold on the truck... Have you received the letter from Corporate yet? I would be calling them.

God damn, can't catch a break Lindsay. I hope this nightmare is over for you soon. I was on a long trip to Montreal over the weekend from NYC with a friend in his new Colorado Duramax, and I gotta say it's a sweet truck if you feel the need to leave Toyota after this. That said, we both talked at length about your issues and how none of it could possibly be your fault, and either of our trucks would be more than adequate for the work you put in with yours.

You could be right. This was Enterprise - but in Arizona where the lifespan of a windshield is sometimes measured in hours.

    very true

I just got hit on the freeway a couple of days ago. So mad.

Getting a dashcam and going after the next a-hole dump truck that breaks my windshield.

I did not take the rental insurance. Just my personal. I hope it doesn't suck too bad when i turn it in. I'm still waiting on the written letter from corporate to arrive. I will consult again and probably make an effort to get the local lemon law attorneys up to speed and on the same page. They know the major aspects of this case but not 100% of it since i chose not to use their services from the get go. Perhaps now it's time to start.
I should have an update tomorrow (if anything...) the last word i heard was "we were slammed for memorial day" which tells me my truck doesn't take a very high priority compared to their routine customers.
