Not an invalid way to negotiate... but it's much more difficult to correlate that with whether or not it's a good deal. Your dest/tax/misc fees are probably going to be very different than mine, even if we bought the exact same truck, just at different dealers.

But the sticker and prices on the window do not change. The lines items on the invoice do. So how do you figure it's easier to correlate? I'm not trying to be snarky, just trying to understand this position. Thanks.

as was said before, I cannot give accurate pricing on GST/SET since they do not have to follow Toyota pricing.

as a side note, I added a disclaimer for those people in GST/SET at the beginning of the post.

but if you notice the Mulroney sticker is totally different that a Toyota Mulroney sticker.

Toyota's only show factory/port options only whereas GST/SET will show options not part of the factory/port options but are specific to GST/SET regions.

good example is the following options :

BL = bed lights which is a GST/SET only option that is not a valid option code for Toyota.

    Which dealer?

    I just received a quote.

TRD Sport 4x4 Double Cab Short Bed with xtang soft trifecta folding tonneau cover

    Non prem pkg 33,356.20
HH Package (prem & tech) $35,830.20

Prices do not include tax and title/registration fees ($471.50)

I feel like I can get a better deal based on the comments in this thread. Any thoughts?

I don't even understand what you are saying. Are you saying the dealers in my area (Texas) aren't using a federally mandated sticker on the window?

Or are you saying that two trucks that are identical and built on the line in Mexico, one right after the other, will have two different Mulroney stickers because one has a destination to California, and the other to Texas? I am only trying to ascertain the correct MSRP and Invoice price for the 7148 code. The price you list now was different than the price listed last October. It is lower which is fine if it's true.

Code 7148 + HH + TO = 34,105 on this thread now in the top post.
    Code 7148 + HH + TO = 34,645 on kbb.com and everywhere else

It used to be 34,645 here too.

I was trying to point out your 7148 price is now lower than it used to be in October.

It has it, but there's an extra column on the right hand side that has the distributor GST junk on it with other options, grand totals, etc.

    2016 model year : 7148 - TRD SPORT DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO............. $ 28502 | $ 30765
    2017 model year : 7148 - TRD SPORT DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO.............. $ 28837 | $ 31125

    how is that lower?

and the MSRP during the first year did not change per the press release. on the 2017 model year the price increased was $360 across the board for MSRP. either way I done trying to convince a single person. better yet post a pic or scan in your sticker or invoice/msrp pricing sheet so we can see the real numbers.

and here is mine when I bought it :

So that deal fell through because the dealer lied and would not honor their proposal. They told me they were going to match and better a price that I received from another dealership. Therefore, I did not put down a deposit. I will be heading back to the initial dealership that gave me my first offer, which was $34850. The price before tax was $33620 and $36000+ after tax. I received a $750 rebate for being a recent college grad and I was able to talked them down to another $600 to get where I'm at. Essentially, I pay $600 under invoice for the car.

All I asked was for you to check and confirm your price was accurate on the TRD Sport DC V6 4x2 automatic. It appeared the number had changed since the last time I referenced it and it no longer matches other sites on the internet. When I was looking at this last fall, the configuration I wanted was just under $34,700 MSRP. Now your numbers say that configuration is $34,105.

Fuck it. I don't really care if your prices are right or not.

    Have a lovely day.

It took about 3 weeks to get that deal. I emailed about 20 different dealerships and travel to 4 (10 hours drive) different dealerships. I visited the dealership where I will be buying from twice (2 hours away). My initial negotiation took approximately 45 mins and second negotiation took about 15 mins because I told them I had better offer from another dealership.

My best offer is +500 over invoice. Plus my out of state plane ticket and drive back.

For you to get -$600 UNDER invoice is amazing, and I heartily congratulate you :)

Thanks I'm thinking about adding the Tonneau Cover which is an additional $600. I'm still $600 under invoice or another way that I looked at it is I got either the tow package or the Tonneau Cover for free.

Just something I thought of.... I know that, on the Toyota "Build" page for our area, the MSRP it shows includes destination. No Dak's numbers do not. Not sure if that is where the discrepancy is, but something to think about.
