5100 leveling problem

I have the 5100 set up front and rears w fabtech AAl's in the back but the front seems to sit lower,any recommendations. Also,I'm thinking of switching to something that gives me a full 3" as opposed to the 2.5 that the 5100's give me, what do most people recommend or have as there set ups? Thanks ahead of time guys

What is 3" gonna get vs. 2.5? Not a thing. If you have them set on 2.5 up front then just get a 1.5 AAL instead of the 2 or 3" you have. With the front set on 2.5 with TRD springs & 1.5 AAL on 3 leaf pack it'll be 1.5 higher in the back. It looks dead level. If you have 4 leaf pack then you might not even need the AAL. Have you tried it like that? What were the measurements to top of fr & rr wheel well arches thru center of wheel? You're gonna need UCAs to get caster right where truck doesn't wander also. Here's a pic of mine with 2.5 up front & 1.5 AAL on 3 leaf crap pack out back.

How much lift is your aal 1.5? trd trucks dont have that much rake when there stock maybe 1.75in lower in the front. its hard to get it dead level with a 2.5 front lift. ur probably only looking at .75 in of rake. not that bad really. i prefer the slightly raked look compared to level. try the ome springs with the spacers and ur billy's set at stock height. that'll give u 3inches up front. and with ur 1.5in aal you should be farely level if not very slightly raked?

 

I guess it wasnt so much the 2.5 versus the 3 so much as i just wanted to level it out. I may go the ome spring route that most people talk about or possibly just go coilovers if i can find a smoking deal. I have the bilstein 5100 setup right now just not sure if i should upgrade to coilovers or just go w the springs. And yes i do have UCAs already installed

 

AAL is 1.5, it's in my previous post. Before lift, fr wheel well arch = 35.75" & rr wheel well arch = 38" which equals 2.25" of rake stock on base model prerunner access cab with 285/60/18s. After lift, fr wheel well arch = 38" & rr wheel well arch = 39.5" with same wheel/tires. Sure, it's a preference thing. 2.5 vs. 3 will get you microscopic amount more tire clearance & higher center of gravity - good & bad. Which is what you get with whatever you do with it. Measure what you have now, compare it to what you want to end up with & go buy the parts that'll get ya there. All there is to it. Have fun....

 

I wouldn't put the 5100 to 2.5, it will make for a harsh ride and you won't be happy.

I just put some OME 886 on (I have the All Pro Bumper) that I got for Christmas (Thanks Mom and Dad) and put my 5100s at 0 and the ride is SOOO much better than when they were at 1.75 with the TRD springs. I was at 36 inches to the bottom of my fender before and now I'm at 38.5" so overall from STOCK (not the lift before) I'm at about 3" of lift. I will be taking pics soon as I can and posting them in my build thread. But if you want 3" you won't be happy with anything else so do what you want to do.

The only thing is I had to have a shop put the springs on the shocks, because the Autozone compressor wouldn't come off the springs when I decompressed them. It was only $50 and took them about 20 minuets so not that big of a deal, just make sure you have another vehicle available to get it them down there.

 

You might not be happy @ 2.5 if you spend most of your time in moderate to hardcore offroad situations but the ride is nowhere near harsh if mostly road to light offroad with occasional harder offroad. Mine rides better than my car does on frwy & tons better than the car would off anything but smooth fresh cement. Depends on the focus of your intended use. I would NOT race offroad with this setup or anything beyond light to moderate shit on occasion that a prerunner would handle anyway. 4X4 = different story. OP says he's got prerunner, speaking to that.

 

What is the diameter of your 285/60/18 tires?

 

I believe they are called 32s but are actually 31.5 or so brand new...checking nitto spec site.........according to nitto's site , they are 31.38 and 11.54 footprint
