    You are lucky.

300 Tacomas for sale near me
    0 Manual.

Having to order 3 states over, without a test drive.

I ordered. I waited. Test drove, then.. Drove off the lot. It added up to what I thought it was going to be like when I researched. Slightly weighted when hilly, supple on the roads, and on demand performance.

All the dealers I have talked to say the same thing. There is like 1 in 30 (something like that) that are manual when they get a shipment.

When you say slightly weighted when hilly, do you mean the truck feels heavy as you climb? I have not been able to take a test drive on any hills so I am not sure what you mean. Either way, I do like the manual. The dealer I talked to today said in the whole Denver region, Like 7 states in the area, he claims there is only 1 manual on any of the lots. I guess that would mean that is the one I drove :)

Yes, the double cab can feel weighted on the incline. That is what I meant.

The only way to shift quickly in my Elise or my Exige S was to run it to 8k+ rpm where the rpm would drop quickly when you let off; anything else and you had to shift like it was a truck which is convenient because it makes driving my taco feel right at home. Of course the tacos third gear is not finicky like every lotus I drove.

Oh, anyone switch the trans to redline MT90 yet? Made a huge difference on the lotus. Thinking about switching.

Mine had rough clanky feeling/shifting issue around 4500k, dealer added transmission fluid/gear oil, issue was then resolved. Now shifts again smooth.

Seems both auto and manual transmissions are low on oil from the finally assembly points both in Mexico (BOO) and Texas. Not sure why this is happening, but I will make sure to have it checked when I pick mine up.

my 2 worthless cents, every second counts...dialing down fluid fills increases truck production, lots of little tricks....double edged sword though, any factory line engineers on this thread?

good thing about a manual though is it basically tells when fluid is low, shifting is not smooth

Recently just traded in my '06 Acura RSX Type S M/T for a '16 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 M/T, and while I'll miss the hell out of my RSX, I'm definitely in love with this damn truck. Glad that I'm not the only one who still sticks to only M/T. We seem to be a dying breed.

@lotuscupcar haha, very true. I had a little one some months back, so I needed something a little bit bigger to protect her but of course I needed a M/T as well, so this was the best fit

Just drove MY 16 home yesterday. 550 miles from the dealer in Denver to Teton Valley ,Idaho. Shifts better than my '08 did. 80 mph on the interstate for a few hours. Had to ride in 5th in 20-35+ mph head winds. The truck did very well.

LOL...yeah I've had mine longer, but in summer 2015 w/ ~$30k budget + wanting a stick + wanting new, I thought it was the best value out there. After the honeymoon phase ended I just realize how much I don't care for the driving feel of the WRX.

As a Lotus owner have you driven a '16 M/T? If yes your thoughts?

Tell me more. A 2017 WRX Limited is my backup in case I'm dissatified with my test drive of the Taco I ordered.
