I'm at the crossroads and need to mix it up a little. Humor me and give me your opinions and reasons on which truck you would pick. And you don't have to remind me its my decision, I realize needs are different but I'm stuck and need random opinions...and I really don't have anyone to vent/ask.

Used with 13k miles. Drives well, vibrations aren't bad. Minimal at 2000rpm between 70-75, but I can live with that.
Pros: I can get it tomorrow, good price, and longer bed
Disadvantage: Small cab, white isn't my top color but not bad

    Quicksand DCSB OR/Sport (still deciding)
    New. To be ordered
Pros. Color, extra space, and new
Cons. Cost $5k more, have to wait around 2 months to receive it, and its been untested for vibrations

My dilemma is that I've put a deposit (refundable) on the AC. Its used and just got put on the lot in the past week. So I need to pull the trigger in less than 24 hours or I'll probably lose it (and make the sales guy not happy after the negotiations). Both have no additional options.

    Okay go!

I am talking to a girl with a kid who is in a car seat. Not sure if a car seat can easily fit in the AC though...but we're just talking right now, so not basing my purchase entirely on that.

Would like to be in the next few years but I figure I could trade it in. Just hate to mod it up just perfect and then get rid of it if thats the case.

What, DCLB don't get no love?

    Best of both worlds.

Gotta wait, like - forever, though.

Ha, I thought of it actually but probably bigger than what I need. Haven't ruled it out, I just don't see many DCLB to compare in person

Do you know the history on the used one. 13k miles, were they just not happy with it, or is there a potential problem, or was it just not the right truck?
If you are in need of a truck and can't wait then you know what you need to do. If you are in no hurry then I would wait, the double cab is so much nicer if you ever have anyone ride with you, heck, even my dogs prefer the double cab.
With that being said, you get more for your money on the OR vs the Sport, but if you like the look of the Sport better get it. The suspension is different on each. I tested both the sport and or back to back, the sport is more fun going around sharp corners because it hugs the road, also had the salesman hugging the dash, but that's a different story.

Carfax came out clean. Asked the Dealer why the guy sold/traded it in and he didn't know.

I have some summer plans I'd like to have a truck for that begin sooner than later (if I have a truck), and I hate waiting but will. Its more about the money. Just trying to see if the extra $5k is worth it.

I like the hoodscoop and larger wheels on the sport, but the OR is growing on me especially with all the talk around here lately.

I don't know your money situation and I am definitely not asking, but for me the extra5k would be worth it to get a truck that I was the one putting those first miles on. Remember, the computer does learn driving habits and there is things to follow for the first 500 miles. That used one the previous owner could have went straight home the day he bought it and hooked a boat or whatever up to it, you just don't know.
To help with sport or OR. What will you be using the truck for and how long do you plan to keep it? A 4x4 sport will do just fine for most, but if you are planning on some real off roading you may need the OR features. You will also probably get more for the OR later on.

Yeah, the $5k is a stretch for me but I think doable.

Not a major off roader, mostly camping sites and beaches. I'm hoping the 4x4 on the sport will be enough to help me through the sand paired with some better tires down the road and that the stock tires will be okay until then.

Never date a girl with someone else's kid. Find one without a kid.

    Good luck.

I've had my AC OR for 8 months and the only person to ride in the back is my 5 year old Son.

It's myself, myself and my son, or myself and a lady, or myself and my son and a friend. Never had to cart around more than 2 adults. Maybe that's pathetic, but I quite like it this way.

Plus AC is shorter wheelbase, better off road, and looks proportionate. :)

Get someone to pull the maintenance history on the used one before you buy it. Also, make sure that you're getting the best price on the ordered one. Check the thread on here that lists invoice price. You should try to pay no more than $500 over invoice. That seems to be a pretty common number. Probably can't go wrong with either truck.
