I like the first one best too. I like the water in the photo and the reflection coming off of it. Really nice photo! Agree, I'd also like to live somewhere like that.

I'm gonna work on a project for myself and see how it turns out. "The 7 wonders of Oregon"; which is the beach, wallawallas, Columbia gorge, smith rock, crater lake, painted hills and Mt hood..

Can't wait to get it done!

I don't think too many people consider the dalles in the same category...

So, when taking photos of people at sporting events.. What's the proper way to go about it? Are there consent issues or what?

What's the context? If you're taking pictures you intend to sell, you may need model releases for anyone who's recognizable. If you're shooting for the news, no release needed.

Ha not quite! But it does have some reach, especially on a crop body!

I want to make it to Yellowstone someday! Hopefully this fall!

Hey everyone, I'm brand new here. Just picked up a 2016 SR5 to help me get to even more remote places for my photography than ever before. If any of you use Instagram and care to follow, you can find me @crossroadstudios

Here's a shot from the inaugural trip last weekend to really get things rolling.

In Zion it's tough to go anywhere that isn't utterly picturesque. All the typical tourist traps are amazing, including Angel's Landing, Emerald Pools and the Narrows (Temple of Sinawava). But I'd suggest getting off the shuttle at "Weeping Rock" and taking the river walk up-canyon to Big Bend (the next shuttle stop). It's about 3/4 of a mile of single-track walking next to the river in the shadow of the Great White Throne, the Rainbow Wall and Angel's Landing. It's one of my favorite places in the park. I'll post a picture below as reference. You'll often have solitude because most people are aiming for loftier objectives and are on a limited schedule.

Also, the classic photo of the Watchman is taken from the bridge at Canyon Junction. Each evening just before sunset the bridge gets pretty crowded with tripods and asian tourists. I generally opt for something a little more off the beaten path.
