    I'm installing my Dakars soon. I just Put the AAL into the pack and replaced the stock bushings with the @HeadStrong Off-Road bushings. I know I'll get some extra lift initially, but how much should I expect that to settle? I'm asking so that I buy the right coils for the front when I revamp the front next month ( I already have a front coil thread). I guess it would be pertinent to ask how long your Dakars took to settle also.

    Truck is a 2012 AC 4x4 with skids, bolt on sliders, frequently a winch (lives in the bed when not on the front), fiberglass topper, bed and cab loaded with tools and gear. The truck rolled across the scale a week or so ago at 5840 pounds with me and 3/4 tank of fuel.

    Mine compress about 3/4-1" with my 400lb constant load of cap and tools , removing the tools the rear comes back up to its original install height

    Just a bunch of old crap
    Had mine on for only a month, but I've had a full bed rack, RTT, spare tire, and half-loaded cooler in it ever since (still sits perfectly level even when loaded up for a trip). Took the RTT off the other day and I was back up to like-new height with a bit of proper rake. We'll see how it settles this summer after a bunch of wheeling and camping.

    No noticeable settling with mine. Took my shell off last week (220 lbs) and I'd be surprised if it raised 1/4 inch.

    Putting it back on this week or next, and adding more lift to the front, so I'll know pretty obviously if it compresses much with the shell back on.

    I anticipate that it won't. LOVE my Dakars.

    I'm running a full leaf pack but I don't have the
    $77 D29XL Leaf Spring
    D29XL AAL installed, no. It's super cheap, I bought one (and sold it) and I think I paid $49 plus shipping for the AAL. Really inexpensive to do so.

    Yeah they are very cheap to buy, and pretty easy to add to the pack. I just like the flex and ride of the setup without the AAL, and I'm concerned that if I add it, things will stiffen up more than I want them to.

    Can't speak to that at all - I actually bought it with a gift certificate for the purpose of resale, was tempted to keep it when it arrived but like you, I wasn't sure of the change in ride that came with it.

    Its like they don't compress at all for the first 200lbs or so , that amount of weight seems to be what it takes to "engage" them

    Stacked spacer lift, 22x12 wheels with stretched 33's, tow mirrors, bull nuts.
    Mine have settled about 1/4 of an inch in the nearly 30k miles I've had them on. They settle about 1" with a full load of camping/recovery gear.

    My access cab is pretty much always loaded fairly heavy. I'd guess it hasn't had less than 400 pounds in the bed (plus tools in cab) in the last 3 years.
