I backed into my mom and dads 3 month old 2016 DCLB with my 99 4runner a few weeks ago :anonymous: the 16 barely had any damage, my 4runners bumper has a pretty good dent.

I swung my empty boat trailer around at the ramp with my tailgate down. The winch handle and the tailgate met each other. Bent the handle and my tailgate. Tailgate has a little "V" style dent in the top and in just wrenched the winch handle back straight as I could. Made and awful racket when it happened. Could have been worse I guess. :notsure:

I've never done this before, but went inside the Gas station to pay, put the nozzle in and drove off without pumping gas.
Luckily the nozzle popped out and no one was around to see it hahaha.

Went to an off-road park and was going to meet my brother there so I'd have a spotter.... decided to hit a few mild trails before he got there. I went down a relatively easy trail, there was a steep incline with a mudhole at the bottom, but not much of a big deal going forward. Well... I went past that and came to ... trees... that had fallen across the trail. (apparently there was a marker that I missed showing the trail to be closed, which I would find out later). At this point the trail is narrow and surrounded by trees. There is no place to turn around until I got back up the incline with the mudhole at the bottom.

I have 2 options, try to back up through the trail in reverse and up the incline through the mudhole which would likely mean getting stuck, or... the option I chose..... Austin Powers time!... I attempted about a 50 point turn, but it was not happening... during this I hit every tree possible, both bedsides(big dents in both), the R front corner (tearing half the front bumper off) and both mirrors got knocked off... I swear it seemed like new trees were sprouting as I was attempting this.... After hitting every corner on the truck, I gave up and reversed my way up the trail... Until I got to the mudhole at the bottom of the big incline. I gave it what I could (in reverse no less) but naturally got stuck.

The one good thing is that a few days before I bought some long cables so I could power my winch from the rear receiver... Finally got out of the mess about the time my brother arrived at the park.

I go to meet him at the gate, covered in mud and pissed off and he advised me that I should have probably waited for him to get there... hindsight 20/20.

We had to tow my boat to a boat mechanic to get it looked at, and about half a mile from the mechanic we went to make a slow left turn. It was at this moment that the trailer decided to come off the ball of my hitch since the spring holding it taught rusted away. The truck was slowing down but the boat picked up speed and continued moving straight ahead. Thankfully the boat wasn't too heavy and the only damage was a very dented tailgate and license plate but I had to drive around with a busted ass tailgate for a few weeks waiting for the replacement parts to get in.

I keep friggin' hitting these things with the door when I get out of my regular cab to get gas. I'm still used to having the gas cap further back after 4 years.

I had a 1999 Prerunner 12 years ago that I had major buyer's remorse over for not getting a 4x4 manual. So, I used to wheel the hell out of it and got stuck all the time. And one day, missing the feeling of a manual transmission, I got the bright idea to use the automatic tranny lever to shift through the gears manually. I ended up throwing it into reverse on accident while going through a major intersection at 40mph. Truck stalled and didn't want to start up again right away, but it finally did. Fortunately nothing broke but it sure sounded like it...I never did that again.

12 years later when getting my current Tacoma, I made sure to get 4wd and a 5 speed lol.

I was loading an ATV up in the bed and since it was summer and like 200 degrees out, I went inside to get some water. A few minutes later, someone asked me if I could move my truck. I said sure, no problem! Guess who didn't strap the ATV down before moving his truck around. The ATV fell out of the bed in the yard and screwed the tailgate up pretty bad. It still closes, but it's obviously messed up.

Backed into a wall at the first meet ever, my receiver shackle put a pretty big hole in the wall, no damage to the truck. Had a pretty bad whiteout snowstorm in MD, made it all the way to my home street and slid sideways into and over a curb, had 2 police officers drive right past that saw it happen, didnt even stop to see if i was okay. And the first time i went to raush creek, DCLB with no sliders, skids or lift, after scraping along most of the trail, and holding up two better equipped truck behind me for over an hour, took a turn around a tree too tight and instead of backing up and trying again went to plow through it and put a decent size dent in my rear passenger door.

Backed into a flooded ditch. Road was flooded and I went to back into a driveway to go back where I came from. (water was 3 feet high in places, my truck is a stock 2wd.) Driveway had those little red reflectors on sticks on each side. Apparently they were three feet off the side.

Rushed home because the big news of the the day was that a nasty blizzard would hit overnight. Once home, I battened down the stuff on the deck so the outdoor furniture, BBQ and other doodads wouldn't fly off and land through the neighbors windows. Checked out the generator to make sure everything would fire up if needed.

Went to bed knowing quite pleased with myself that I did everything to prepare for this storm.

Next morning, I woke up to a picture perfect white landscape of a couple feet of snow. Went outside to fire up the snowblower. Looked at my beautiful truck all covered in snow. Looked a little more closely and was shocked to see snow INSIDE the truck up to the headrests. Dammit... I forgot to roll up all the windows when I rushed home.

Took me all day to clear out the snow inside the truck with a leafblower and two weeks to dry the thing out.

Embarrassing (actually it wasn't but maybe it would be for others) - Drove over a dune onto a jetty to bang a chick in the front seat. People walked by with fishing poles and looked and smiled. (had windows down cuz it was hot). I kept going and finished;).

Dumb - pulling the truck out of a garage in the early A.M. half asleep fully hungover and not watching passenger mirror , and scraped the truck from back of cab to front door handle on metal door railing of overhead fucking door.

Dumbest thing I've done in a truck:

And the Tacoma, after running countless 5/5s at Hidden Falls with IFS and 31s, my luck ran out

As a bonus, the same trip, I tried to drive up a vertical wall taller than my truck made of mud. Thanks @Toyboata for the snag

I thought my truck inverter would run the sump pump in the event of a power failure. Yeah, not so much...

I was giving two friends a ride and going 55 down an old farming road, and one of them jokingly (or accidentally I can't tell) put it in reverse. The truck slowed down but I slammed it back into Drive. Thankfully nothing broke but I was mad nonetheless.

I throw cars at the lot into reverse all the time just cause I like playing with new shifters.. I don't think it actually goes into reverse until it's at slower speeds, I could be wrong though. When you put it in reverse at 30 then slow down you can feel it slam into gear at about 4 mph haha

Yeah I think newer cars are designed to be more 'idiot proof' lol, my '99 auto probably was too to an extent; I don't think it actually went into reverse but it definitely sounded like it tried before stalling. The grinding noise it made was terrible and sounded like the tranny completely fell apart from underneath me. But she started up again and was completely normal after that.
