Why dont more people run the 16x8 4.5in or 4.0in backspace black steel rims on their trucks? I plan on getting the 16x8 4.0in backspace rims with 305/70R16 BFG T/A KM2 or 305/70R16 Toyo Open Country M/T.

make sure the steel wheel fits.they have a different inner design for strength than other wheels.you might have to get a 17 or 18 inch rim

It says on the wheelers site that it fits my truck. I am going to call them and make sure.

i think they look good on toyota pickups but they are kinda dated looking on the tacoma...for 55-65 bucks though can't really go wrong.

I want them because I wheel my truck and want something that I can scratch up and not really care that much.

Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
thats exactly what those wheels are for...

folks have been running their wheels for years, although you tend to see them more on trail rigs... they aren't the best looking wheel design, but they do the job...

I was thinking about getting the 16's from them also.

    so , say I got the 16's with 4.5 backspacing. I have a 3" lift and UCA's and if I went with a 285/75
why would the tires rub? too wide? too tall?
    so maybe a 275/70 ??

he wasnt talking about the tires rubbing. Every 16in wheel with the exception of the Wheelers Off-Road rim are too small to fit with the calipers on our trucks. The Wheelers ones are special designed to fit our trucks.

this I know..but as long as there was a thread about these wheels I figure I would ask about the tires (285/75/16) rubbing. I haven't seen this size on a wheel like this in person and had some questions.

I run the 285/70R17 on the stock rim which has 8inch backspace so my guess is if you ran the 285/75R16 on the wheelers wich is 4 or 4.5 inch backspace they wouldnt rub. Just my guess tho.

Are you sure because I measured the backspace on my 17in rim and it is 8inch backspace unless I measured wrong.

Dont waste time with a phone call...I have those rims on my truck right now. they are great. I sanded them down, because they come gloss, and painted them with rustoleum hammered black. turned out great.
