I did this.....super simple. It lays in the notch on the wheel wells. The rear wheels end up in the back of the bed, against the tail gate. I run a bungie cord through the back wheel for added stability.

Not a taco, my apologies. A friend was nice enough to lend us his old caddi for a trip to silverstar. Those 4 bikes are worth almost $20k, caddi cost $7k haha!

I wanted to be offended, but then I realized that the bikes were basically taking a Taxi to their next ride.

No current pics, but living in New York City I ride my 2007 Surly Steamroller whenever I can't drive or take the subway to work. If I need to transport it I just toss it in the bed. It's a steel frame track bike with a flip-flop hub, not a Look or something beautiful.

Like this set up. I have a few bikes as well and they take up a lot of space on the wall in the garage.. But this rack you made also has storage up top looks great! Now if I can duplicate it my garage would be happy.

It cost less than $40 fro Lowes. 1 - 4x8 sheet of plywood. about 8 - 2x4. I already had the screws. I'm no carpenter either so I'm sure you can figure it out.

As for folks hating on clip in shoes, give them a try. Like, more than once. You have so much more control over your bike as well as more power/speed. Even the DH guys wear them. They just don't look like road bike shoes.
To me, it's not about looking cool or ridiculous, as some would say, it's about functionality and what each article of clothing or shoe does for me on the bike. When I ride my road or cx bike I wear ridiculous spandex and jerseys. When I'm out for a trail ride I ride more relaxed with shorts that have pockets to carry more stuff. Whatever works for you. Don't try and fit the mold of what one style of riding says you have to look like. But yeah, pro enduro guys do look cool. If you dress like that, you better be hauling ass down the trails!

That's a nice, safe looking trail right there! Where are you from?

I love bikes! my current bike is a mtn bike so as @Boogyman said, around here any trail on a full suspension is just depressing.
this is my girl. shes a beast and I couldn't be happier. this is my old girl. shes old and ive pretty much worn her flat out. shes just a beater now. Ive olso got my dads old Schwinn continental that still has the working generator and lights on them! the brakes don't work and she doesn't shift gears, but hey, brakes are for wussies.

I have a regular cab which has the long bed (6'). I have a small toolbox in the front of the bed. Without removing this toolbox, is there any way I could transport two bicycles upright? Looking for an affordable inside the bed bike rack.

    Thanks

I have mine setup so you could do it with a tool box. I'll take pics in the morning. You'll just need a quick fist and a standard master lock.

For those that bike, and haul bikes in a canopy, what is your set up? I'm looking for a canopy (ARE MX or Leer 180) that I can keep my bikes (fork mounted) upright under the shell, rather than remove the seatpost.
