Jason, I may have to hit you up for extra hands and 2nd-gen-specific wisdom at seem point in the undetermined future (but I hope before winter) to install the lift on my "new" 2015.

I've done it on my first gen a couple times, first time solo, no probs (OME). And I have a couple great wrenching buddies, too, but they aren't familiar with Tacomas, and they have very limited availability. Extra hands would help speed it up and maybe help me avoid some head scratching. I've got everything needed and a 2-car garage. And beer. With the new kiddo who will be 1 in August, my backlog of house and truck projects grows daily. It is very hard to get anything done.

Will likely be ~2 in lift with Dakars in back, and wither Eibach/Bilstein (non-5100) or Kings in front, matching shocks in rear. Plus JBA UCAs. I have not done UCAs before. Still looking into options. Very slowly.

Let me know if you are interested/theoretically willing. No pressure.

I would be down to help. Maybe we could do anther mod day. summer time gets busy for me as well, especially august. But im have a lot of Saturdays open most of the yr. wife works three Saturdays a month.
UCA if your only going 2" you might just want to with light racing UCA's if you are going with full coil-overs and extend travel then get uni ball uca's. UCA's are supper easy. Hardest part is pull the tire off.LOL Im not familiar with JBA UCA's. but they all mount the same. I wish I had a two car garage. What part of town are you in?

Curtis Park. The JBAs provide more down travel than the LRs, and they are also simpler. Not adjustable, just +2 degrees caster. With a dclb and no locker (yet), I am very interested in max down travel to avoid traction issues or high centering.

so your going extended travel up front. go with kings or icon. don't bother with Eibach/Bilstein (non-5100). im about to ditch my set up . I only have the billys because they came on the truck, its time to upgrade. there a horrible ride.

Yeah, pretty much. Been looking at both King and Icon.

I had 5100s with my 881s, and hated them after a short while. Swapped in nitrochargers, better, removed swaybar, best.

And thanks for the insight on your experience with Bilstein/Eibach. But there are also other Bilstein models. Crom identified a set that work very well with Dakars, giving them a full 2 additional inches of droop over the nitrochargers.

I'm just trying to keep my mind open as I narrow down options that work for my needs. For example, I was very interested in the OME BP-51s, but when they finally came out and I could get an extended measurement of the rear shocks, discovered they are no better than current nitrochargers in terms of that spec, so they are off my list now. Hence, taking my time. Do it once, do it right (after twice on the last truck LOL).

I really wish it were easy to go drive other rigs with other setups before committing to a purchase. We all have different opinions/issue/sensitivities too. I just don't want to get this long pig stuck when I take the family camping and exploring. Basically, light expo.

Man, I wish I had an actual driveway. That little concrete apron between my garage door and the gravel alley isn't really too friendly for backs and knees. My old house near the med center had a long-ass driveway in nearly perfect shape from the street all the way to the backyard detached garage. Could get probably three trucks single file on that.

Cool. I'm actually really close, over in Rosemont. This coming week is fine, but I work Wed. and Fri. night. The others are good.

I'm debating between the All-pro and OME lift. It depends which I can get quicker. Some of the All-pro stuff is back ordered.

I'm planning to install myself but hopefully find some forum help. In any case, I'll order the fronts assembled so they'll be just direct bolt on.

You guys might want to check out Fox setups. the ones I've seen are pretty nice. And a bit nicer on the wallet than King.

Do you carry a bunch of weight in the bed? Check out the AP Expos.

I'm pretty set on the Dakars. Had them on the first gen. They'll also give me the flexibility to pull on overload or add their AAL. Wheelers bump stops on a U-bolt flip kit holding them on. This is a daily driver regular pickup duty, plus light expo.

Cap on the bed 24/7, full size spare under the bed, plus Prinsu on cab and cap, it will have full camping loads and be towing a small trailer. And potentially an RTT back there at some point. And likely sliders and aluminum skids, too. And stuff...

Sounds like quite a bit of weight. Might want to just get the AAL right away. @Gply just installed his Dakars without AAL last weekend and with just a rack and rtt (although it is a heavy one) he was ass low. And his was just a shortbed.
    Just my .02.
Either way im down to help install if there is some sort of mod day or somethin

I agree with @tacomgee about the AAL for the dakars. My RTT is right at 200lbs and the rack is at 60. I had some sag right out of the gate and that's with no gear in the bed. I'm also gonna be installing a HC bumper with swing out in A few weeks so the AAL is a must for me. I should have them installed this weekend so I'll post some pictures of ride height before and after the extra leaf when I get done.

Thanks, man. Yes, it does sound like a lot, but it will be gradual-ish. The RTT is a ways off. Say 4-5 years at least when the kid is bigger. And, theoretically, if I had the RTT on, I would not be towing. Also, I have an option to put the RTT on the trailer. Trailer is only 1500 dry, haven't checked the tongue weight. I think aluminum skids would be first, then sliders later, and the lightest I can spec from Eric or JLee.
Which rack? A bed rack, or a Prinsu on a cap? I have no plans for plate bumpers or swingout setups. I am trying to keep weight down wherever possible, and only do some of these defensive mods if I can prove they are necessary (as in I fuck something up on the trial). And also, getting the Wheelers bumps should help mitigate ass-low syndrome.

Fox might be out of my budget. I'm trying to keep things below the point where I don't just say 'f@ck it' and go SAS.

I'm debating the whole Dakar vs All Pro Expo thing. I've got a Leer 122 which is about 200 lbs. I keep a platform in there as well all the time. Going to get a rear steel bumper. With all that I'd like it to sit with a little rake, so when I actually load up, it's level and not sagging. I'm trying to figure out which of the two will be able to support the weight without sagging, but still give flex. Dakars have the overloads but I've heard good things about the Expos.

I'm also considering the Tundra Coil Swap for the front. Did the Eibach/5100 thing before and didn't like it. A friend of mine did OME last year and his is sagging some. Still, it rides good.
