PSA: Do not buy cheap tents. I was stupid enough to buy a Eurika Copper Canyon 4, one of those big-ass upright tents.

Came in an hour ago, I put it up in my garage. Looked ok. Started breaking it down, and 2 out of 4 wall poles just fell apart. There is a series of metal cables and bungies inside the poles and they were attached to each other with what appears to be a twisted paper clip. Fuck this tent with a cactus. Back to REI it goes.

Yeah, it sucks. Tapa is the only way I will spend time on a forum with mobile device/iPad. Most of my forum browsing is on those two devices since I spend all day at work in front of a computer so I don't use it much when I'm at home. It literally costs nothing to support, and TW could even make money from it if they desired (I run my own Forum and make a small amount with it).

But I digress. Back to the gear!

Most essential camping product right here. The "original nomad" camping hot tub. This was our first day using it at a local lake right after ice off. The lake water was 39 degrees. Next weekend I'll be taking it on the first camping trip of the season.

I've used Tapatalk almost since its inception. I use Tapatalk on my own forum. Using ads/splash pages/Tapatalk SEO is completely optional to the forum using the plugin. The app went through a phase where it had boatloads of issues last year, but it's better than ever now.

That was not the problem. TT was spamming users of this forum by impersonating other users of this forum and asking them to install TT.... or something like that.

I saw. Not sure there was ever hard proof of actual shenanigans though. I'm on larger forums than than this where it has worked great for years with none of that. It's possible that it was a spam issue and not an actual Tapatalk issue (I battled spammers on my forum for a while). But again, this isn't the place for this discussion and I don't want to dirty up the thread.

Got some new wool t-shirts and boxer briefs from WoolX in the past week. God, these things are soft and comfy. I wore one of the t-shirts for 4 days straight, working out or hiking every day, to test the "no stink" claim that they advertise. OMG it works. The shirt smelled like fresh linen on the 4th day, and it wicked like a champ. I'm in love with these! The boxer briefs really wicked away the moisture, too. No soggy cotton boxers after a full workout. I'm rather impressed.

Since I don't own any Smartwool, I can't make an honest comparison. WoolX products are all Merino wool, so they're soft and better wicking than standard wool. When I say soft, I mean silky soft. Better than synthetics. Their base t-shirts are super lightweight, as are their boxers. Lighter than cotton. WoolX does make mid weight and heavy weight products including pants/hoodies/socks and more. Check out their site: www.woolx.com

Fast shipping, too. From Oregon to AZ, I ordered and had both deliveries in 2 days. Plus, I had an issue with one of the shirts getting a hole in the side somehow (pretty sure I stretched it by accident, then washed it and possibly snagged it), and they sent me a replacement PLUS 2 extra pairs of boxers. They were very responsive to my request for return and made up for it 300%. They even one-day delivered the replacements.

They throw some good coupons around all the time, too. Follow them on Facebook and get signed up for their emails.

No, I don't work for them or represent them. I'm just impressed with their clothing and their customer service. I now own 2 shirts and 3 pairs of boxers. Next will be the heavyweight long sleeve shirt as soon as their next coupon comes around (usually 12-15% off of your order).

I love my wool baselayer and socks. Works awesome when I go winter camping. I can be out and active for 4-5 days and not smell like a hobo, it's wonderful, lol.
