The first step is admitting there is a problem.

You have a Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics dual major degree and you work somewhere driving cars at low speed in a parking lot?

    That speaks volumes.

So you think it is OK to throw the transmission into reverse while going forward.

    Lighten up Francis. :)

I'm a student on break for the summer trying to make money to pay for a place to live and for my truck while doing unpaid internships and volunteering at an off road park... my bad... I guess?... If you're implying you had a better job as a student (I make very decent money, to the extend my piers holding the same job title live off their salaries) then I do envy you! And no, my responsibilities are not limited too driving around cars at low speeds around a parking lot. But then again, my admitted lack of intelligence should limit me to this, no? Or am I misinterpreting your assumptions?

What speaks volumes is I admitted I was wrong (to an extent, granted), decided to change my behavior, and you still feel the need to self validate yourself by playing parent to someone on the internet, and refuse to let things go.

As for the Toyota Mechanic... he's a Toyota Mechanic... been doing it for quite some time and is still going strong, and is even now a master mechanic! So, going to take his word. Personally. Believe what you wish. Even said I would stop, despite having a credible source say it would not harm the car. But then again, it would seem as if you're under the gun to show some kid on the internet he's unintelligent. Afterall, I made the first step to... wait... what did I make the first step to, exactly?

If you wish to continue this discussion, please feel free to PM me :D we can continue this thread of people doing stupid stuff in Tacomas. Which, I feel like, people are going to be less keen on posting now that they're under the assumption people like you are going to swoop in and play mom.

    Move on.

To be true to this thread I'm typing this story while sitting in my Tacoma

In 1975 I was helping my dad drill some drain holes in the spare tire wheel well on our Plymouth station wagon. This car had the lift up tail gate and it leaked like drunk man after 12 beers into the well.

A couple of 1/4 inch holes and the water would drain out. The problem was none of the water was hitting the ground!!

We managed to drill right into the gas tank!

Every year on the "anniversary" date I mail my dad a piece of duct tape in a card.

    Edit: nothing constructive was posted.

Just curious as to what you're trying to accomplish. I'll extend the invitation to you (and whoever else) if you wish to continue calling me an idiot, do it via PM so we can get off the thread. Thanks.

I was walking my boss's dog on June 1st and I came across this injured baby starling roasting to death on a public sidewalk. I brought the bird back to my truck (parked about 2 blocks away) and cranked the A/C. Being held in front of the A/C perked the bird right up. My friend later came by and took the bird to a wildlife center because I had to go to work and didn't have time to do it myself. UPDATE (June 5): The bird's outlook is quite good! The Aark (wildlife center) expected the bird to survive!

Also, FYI, I am an animal lover but about as far from being an avian expert as one can be. I did not know it was an invasive species and I just don't think any living thing deserves to fry like an egg on a sidewalk until it dies. I did not expect it to survive, either.
