2016 BBP audio build

Actually it was easy, I like the flexibility to fine tune the sound.......initially I was going to get the lc7, glad I didn't no dissapointment whatsoever......

 

I stole one this weekend from Sonic Electronix for $240. including shipping to Tennessee. Now I am trying to decide on a 5-channel AMP. I am not looking for a lot of loudness, just enough amplitude to drive my 100 watt speakers and provide comfortable sound. I am working with Mr Marv to find a solution.

 

Looks great Geo! I think I have the same box/rack/sub coming from Marv soon! Looks like you put Dynamat on the rear wall. Did you also place on the floor? I have RAAM product that Marv mentioned on his site. He did however mention NOT to place any sound deadener in a few spots for the box to fit - did you have any issues with that?

 

I didn't place the sound deaden on the floor just the wall and my doors, it is a tight fit for the speaker box I had to remove the back panel from the back seat on the passenger side to make it fit

 

I'm not for loudness I like crisp clean sound something that factory head units don't provide....I'm using a 5 channel amp with the dq61

 

What 5-channel did you go with and what is its watt rating per channel?

 

I have the alpine pdr-v75 5 channel amp 75 per channel

 

There is a fix for that that Marv told me about. You can get longer bolts for the back of the seat and a 3/4 inch spacer. I was going to be doing that soon because I had to take the plastic off the back of my seats too. It's just too freaking hot right now in AZ to do anything outside. It is supposed to be 117 today. Once I do it I will make sure to take pics and stuff.

 

117 thats insane, my parents own their 2ND home in Az. Suppose to be 100 here in cali, i still need to run tge little wire that connects to the control knob but it's too hot Are you referring to the bolts that hold the seat in place? If so would I get the bolts from home Depot? I also what to do what you did, add the felt so I can cover up the bare metal and sound deadener....

 

Yeah the bolts that hold the back of the seat in place. You should be able to get them from home depot and the spacer I'm pretty sure you could do washers stacked or I think I have seen thicker spacers at auto zone

 

I'll stack a few washers......I'll remove a bolt see if I can find a similar one these fasteners that the use to put cars together may be threaded different...

 

Finally got around to soldering all my connections.
Did I get it right ? Only one I wasn't sure was the orange striped wire to blue wire...

 

Looks nice and clean. Perhaps some tape to wrap all the wires up? I know its too late to put heat shrink around all the wires unless you depin everything but thats a pain lol

 

You have it wired up perfectly. Looks really good.

 

Would you guys be able to take a pic of the bolt you guys are referring to.

 

The bolts that hold the seat back on. You can put a spacer in between the bracket and the seat to push it forward far enough to clear the sub and box with the plastic back on it. I haven't done it yet but I plan to.

 

I knew I had seen another pic of someone that had done this mod to their seats to push them forward.

I'm not at this stage yet, but this will be a nice reference for when I get to that point

 

I have a pair of metra harnesses de-pinned if anyone needs.

 

Cleaned things up a bit and kept the orange dimmer wire exposed so that I can pull from it for my LED light bar switch dimmer power without tapping into any factory wiring.
