TRD supercharger

I noticed that the pedal adjustment from the factory wasn't really perfect & picked it up early along with the throw out bearing squealing issue, but was able to make the correction & drove my truck like I stole it for ever & the clutch on this (before the s/c install) & any other toyota without any performance upgrade took it well.
Anyway, if I new I was gonna boost when I did the tranny, I could have saved myself a little work, no biggie. I just had spinal surgery 2 months ago so can't do the clutch til next april.

 

I've spent some time serching the internet for clutch's & noticed there was a large selection.
I see alot of members on this site like the urd, is that really the best recommendation?
I want to make the right choice.

 

Spec Clutch, ACT, Excedy, Centerforce.

Only once was complimented like that. When I was a lad. Keen perspective you have.

My all time favorite is Spec. Stage 2+ ,unless you have high torque and or big tires. Then Stage 3+. They are not cheap though. They can handle everything and more. I have stories which sitting out and a few drinks, of their accomplishments I have personally aided in and seen.

Then any other name brand.

Except Competition Clutch, for the Tacoma. History of failure.

Is there a differance between the stock throw out & the urd bearing?

 

Go on the URD website and look up the throw out bearing, Im on my phone and they have a full explanation of the upgrade. Basically a stronger metal that wont wear as fast

So I'm looking at the instrument wiring diagram in my Haynes book in an attempt to understand which wire is dash lighting and which wire I should target for keyed ignition. I'm ready or work on my gauges. Any recommendations?

 

This is behind the coin tray.....this is where I fused tapped for my afr gauge that is powered upon ignition. I believe it's the wiper motor. If you look in the diagram in the owners manual itl tell you exactly what it is. .......works for me.

 

This is the one I fuse tapped for my boost gauge. I believe this one is the left head light. Flip the cover over to confirm. This one is in the bigger fuse box under the hood. I only need my light for the gauge to be on at night....which is why I tapped it into a head light. DONT MESS WITH THAT YELLOW WIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Those little connectors are handy.

Yes. Those. Auto parts store?

 

Yup....I believe they are mini fuses so you gotta make sure you get the correct fuse taps....take a fuse with you to the store.

 

Now I'm drinking and watching Umphries McGee do Pink Floyd. Gauges are tomorrow.
