I have Mobtown sliders. This is a 60" model hi lift. I have a jakjaw attachment on the way that makes the hi lift more secure when lifting on sliders. Will be getting a full size spare and matching wheel and a way to mount it when I get more money

I think i successfully made a "build page". Take a look if you're interested. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/louies-build-2016-trd-off-road-double-cab.417631/
Thanks for the info. I have the mobtown sliders in order. So the 60in jack fit. That's great to know. I also need a bigger spare. Do you know how big of a tire you can fit in the stock location? I have 285/70/17. Think it will fit? What are you thinking for alternative mounting locations?

Note that I have a long bed truck. I don't store my spare under the truck since I don't want to fish it out in the mud. I'll be mounted a 255/80-17 flat in the bed and putting a tonneau cover over top

I saw someone modded theirs by bolting a chunk of off-road tire tread to the base. Genius. Really gave the Jack some grab on a rock.

    There's pics around here...somewhere.

I've been using Lift Mates, they will only lift just that one wheel, the rock sliders will lift the whole side..

What good does it do to lift a wheel when you have a flat?

Al I did was use the EXACT same tires that came on my Limited...265/60/18 Michelins. Since the wheels were a -12 offset, the negative offset pushed the tires out. They are about 0.5" pass the Toyota OEM mud guards. I just got back from driving, no rubbing...NONE!

If this was the only way I had to raise the wheel to change a tire I would still be able to using this same method. Very do-able but we all have a proper jack for changing a flat.:duel:..

So removed my air dam. Put on 265/70/17 wrangler adventures. RCI skid. I still get pretty decent mpg. Not sure how much the larger tires effect the true reading. image.jpg

I have a Flowmaster 40 Series installed on mine and highly recommend it. My exhaust guy just cut out my old muffler and welded this one in place and put on a black tip. Cost me a whole $160 and it sounds great!

Added a Gladman fab recovery point in the front and hitch adapter with a couple of new shackles. And picked up a Rugged Ridge recovery strap, ready to pull someone out or get pulled. Preferably pulling someone out :ballchain:

@OhioTaco68 mentioned to me in a PM that he saw a video that showed using a hairdryer to get smooth edges. I wish I had seen the video before I started but I actually did grab one to dry out the water from the edges as I did the wet install and it did help - just a little too late because I got a couple small creases. You would have to get down close to notice them so I'll see how long they last.
