I don't know what your setup is so I couldn't tell you. I was just curious if you had it on or not.

So when you stuff the tire it gets further away? Or when you stuff and turn?

Makes no sense. Wheels are round and as the tire gets pushed into the well you will be getting closer to the cab mount. When you droop it will be further away.

With my lift in the front, a slight amount of upward flex puts the middle of the tire "level" with the cab mount, if it continues to upward flex and stuff into the wheel well, it will go above the cab mount and hence "farther away"

So when you turn the wheel at full bump what happens?

Type of tires could play in. All manufacturers have different specs for exact same sizes. Some "33's" are actually much closer to barely qualify as 32s and others are pretty close to being true 33s.

Also your alignment can play a HUGE part in it. You can go from eating the cab mount to completely clearing it just off the alignment.

However, I will not be running 33's, the tires I just purchased are 34s. And according to the specs, very true 34s. Which is why there will be additional trimming required.

Ok, so you do have issues rubbing. Maybe not at the cab mount, but the inner/lower fender before the cab mount. This is where I rubbed also when I put 34s on.

Correct, I do. That's why I removed my inner fender entirely, but I will still catch the fender itself when I turn. I've just never been anywhere close to the cab mount so I have been so confused how some people who run the same tire size as me have to chop theirs. Oh well..

As I'm sure has been stated before many things play into where your tire sits in relation to other objects. Type of UCA, caster #s, wheel BS, etc. Many different people, many different trucks.

Ok guys, I have a dilemma. I got a couple of new cans of the wheel paint to respray the wheels the correct color with and once again it seems they are not turning out how I would like. They look like they have a layer of dust on them. I applied a "wet" coat of paint like the can suggests when topcoating. Yet it looks like I did a light mist and not heavy enough to bring color. I held a heat gun by one while it was drying and it seemed to actually get ride of the haze look but it would blister the paint in some areas before it would remove the haze in the small nooks and crannies. Also, any part that has a haze is very rough texture wise.

What did I do wrong? How can I remedy it? I'm getting tired of buying more cans of this wheel paint when it seems all except the very first can is giving crappy hazy textured results.

    Pics to explain.

    Help @iJonny @colinb17 @ckeene9 @allmotorrex @Acerwin @geekhouse23 @TacoAlaMode and anyone else. I am at a loss.

They are supposed to look like this

Well I don't still have the can that gave the desired color, that is long gone but the new cans have the same paint code as that one. And I was searching for anything this morning. It's 85 here. Heat gun may not have been needed but I was grasping at straws.

Sadly I think I am just going to go get some of the rustoleum aged copper and spray the wheels. It won't be the exact color I was looking for, but it will be a hell of a lot closer that it currently is. And if I keep buying the duplicolor with the proper paint code yet getting the wrong color as a result I think it's time to give up on that route.

Went out about an hour ago with the last of the wheel paint I had. Figured there was no sense in saving it and a couple more coats would just add to the layers of protection. Turned a less than half a can in to 2 very very light coats. It has been sitting in the sun for an hour and here is how it looks.

Not quite the color, but at least closer. I give up. I think now is when I step away from this project for a few days.
