My CBI Front Bumper with Center Grill Protection was ordered yesterday. 3-4 week wait will seem a lot longer than that. Picts will post as soon as it's installed

Arb's spec PDF shows the bumper at 170lbs which is way heavier than I want. Can anyone who has one in hand confirm it is that heavy.

He is incorrect. Texas Transportation Code section 504.943 still requires two license plates.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. They was a big misunderstanding a while back and many thought the law was changed.

Should have another option for you guys in the next few months!
I just picked up a 2016 trd and got the prototype done. I still need to play around with the tube work but I'm happy with the look of the bumper.
I took a different aproch from what is curently offered and mounted below the grill and retained the factory fog cutouts, I put 6" led light bars in there place.
The bumper is completly modular and weighs about 85lbs.
    Hope you guys like it!
There are several great options out there right now but I haven't seen any that look like this one and think it will fill a nitch for guys that want a light weight low profile look and don't need a super high clearance bumper. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I like that w/o hoops and wouldn't be running a winch, so a light bar mount would look perfect for my style :)

My favorite too. I'm not big on cutting up the bumper. I'd rather remove the whole thing.. Idk why vendors are not making them one piece... Why destroy the bumper??

I'll chime in to as why I will not be building a full replacment bumper.
There are several things to concider.
First, the factory bumper cover is attached to the body, when you attach an after market bumper to the frame you must have propper clearances, about 1/2" or you will get bumper to body contact.

Second, IMO a full replacement bumper must follow the lines perfect to pull it off, with the differences from vehicle to vehicle it is almost impossible, this is why if you look closely at some of the full replacment bumper you will see the lines just don't match unless the bumper was built on the truck.

3rd, the lack of support for the upper portion of the wings.
With the wings extending that high above the frame there is just not enough support to get any strength! This along with to tight of clearances will be a damage multiplier in the event of even a minor collision.

4th, weight. With the full replacement bumper you almost double the weight needed, this will most definitely cause the need for major suspension upgrades in the future and will have a negative affect on the overall handling.

I can't speak for other other vendors but these are the reasons I didn't go the full replacment route.
Form is a very important part of my designs but at the end of the day function must come first.

I really didn't want to cut my bumper either but in the end it is only a $300 piece of plastic that can easily be replaced if needed.

Got the ARB bumper installed this past weekend. I love the looks, fit and finish.
I'm very pleased with it. While it's heavy(i'd imagine every steel bumper in this category
would be)I didn't weight it, but 170lbs sounds high to me.

All my full size trucks have Buckstop's with a Warn 16.5ti and they handle deer and elk well. Hoops are important to me. Maybe if Buckstop makes a Baja for the '16 I'll try it out. I do like the Relentless Predator too.
