Well it was a wreck they shut down two lanes to deal with it. Trailblazer was almost unrecognizable

Does anyone know if the ring and pinion on the rear of third member as the front diff on 80's 90's Yotas? Basically can the ring and pinion from a front diff go in a third member or are they different? (may be dumb question, i never took a front IFS diff apart)

IFS truck ( '86 newer ) use a 7.5" ring and pinion, they do not swap with the rear.

wanna do SAS ? I've got an axle from an '84 lock out to lock out complete, use your IFS hubs and you'll have a wide track Runner

IFS truck rear axle is 3" wider than rear axle on solid axle trucks, 1.5" outside the spring perches each side, rear drum brakes are larger also

use IFS hubs on the front solid axle spindles, 78 newer FJ40 vented rotors with spacers and IFS Calipers and you'll wide stance, and good brakes, use FJ80 brake master

 

Naw just wondering, i think the runner has bigger gears in it, and my buddy with a solid axle 85 truck needs gears, but wont work for him. I have few axles lying around. Still flip flopping on the runner idea or just going stupid with the 81, cut off all rear frame 4 link, air shocks, full floater IFS rear axle

A rear axle chunk and gears WILL swap into a solid axle front if thats what you are after. IFS will not ( IFS FRONT gear will not , rear axle chunk will )

 

i think i still have a one or 2 4cyl chunks assembled, i know i have a few housings and carriers.

 

Yea, ive done all that before, just had never messed with IFS stuff (other than my 08) and other than cutting it off a older truck, not going to mess with it on older ones.. Thank you for then info

 

So I got a elocker actuator skid thingy.. And no elocker.. Anyone wanna buy it? I think its a allpro? Idk it came with the skids i got..
