As with everything, it took longer than I would have liked, but I finished up some overhead switch panels. May use a portion of the space for fuses, too. There wouldn't be much (if any) room around the shifters because I'll be running:

    Triple sticks for t-case/crawl box
    Trans shifter
Secondary trans shifter (for semi-auto control)
    Dual lever cutting brake controls
Dash will have the radio(s), gps, extra gauges, and winch controls

With the '81 I'm trying to do it 'right' this time and collect the parts/materials BEFORE I start working. :anonymous:

The cash from the tires is going a long way.

    For the Tacoma, I've ordered-

    Ruff Stuff dual battery box
    Four 18" TG limit straps
1 King 2x4" bump stop (for mock up) and 4 bump cans
    30 tabs for brake lines
3 sets of bushings for building the drivetrain skid/mount

    For the '81-

    Full 22R seal kit
    piston rings
    POR 15
    Paint and clear coat
    wheel bearings
    TG full knuckle rebuild kit
    rear shocks & steering stabilizer
    stainless brake lines
    windshield seal
    bench seat

The bench seat should be an interesting mod. I'll have to make a frame for it, but whatever. I scoured the local junkyard and found this rear seat out of a 2008 Lexus ES 350. I wanted something comfortable but didn't really want to shell out $400+ for aftermarket

As much as I like the original color of the truck, I decided I'm going to change it up and go with the '83 'Terra Cotta' color with the same graphics. Hoping it'll turn out like this-

Thanks for throw back memories Jon, I had an 83 long bed in that color.

I forgot my cast exhaust manifold has a 6" crack in it so while I'm at it, I'll be installing PaceSetter long tube headers and a magnaflow.

I finished up the seat bracket and sliders, but I'm having to do some heavy trimming on the back portion. I'll sew/hem the cover so it still fits nicely. I'm undecided on if the back should be fixed or allow to fold.

I also picked up tube to make a new bumper styled after the classic smittybilt ones.

I still have to cap the ends and grind some of the welds, but it's done for the most part. Waiting on the brackets until I cut off the angle iron hack job that is welded to the frame.

    Well that escalated quickly!

We need the Tacoma finished before you start something new.

    Pretty much.

Prepping the frame for POR-15. The wiring harness for the bed is junk (literally falling apart), so I have to put together a new one. Also touching up some areas where I welded in new flooring on the cab and adding raptor liner. Hoping to move the Taco out of the garage Monday and start prepping body panels for paint.

I wish I could, but finishing the Taco anytime soon is cost-prohibitive. Adding to that, time isn't on my side with the '81 and it had to be fixed before it was too far gone. I suppose with age, the windshield seal shrank and allowed water to pool and eventually rust completely through. I tried covering it with silicone, but it only slowed the leaking into the cab and corroding the electrical components.

Windshield frame looks like this on both sides...
