Anyone determine exactly how SoL we are if we need the recall performed and have an AAL in there now?

I have the Icon progressive AAL in and the dealership said I need the recall replacement. The mechanic mentioned the AAL isn't compatible. Seemed to imply the pin length wasn't the issue.

Anyone been though this? Very frustrating because my truck rides and sits perfect with the 5100'a and Icon AAL

I've read a few posts and some people get the tech to take the AAL out and install it in the new pack.

They told me there will be no problems with the air bags, if they try and charge me there will be hell to pay.

I just got my letter to go in. I was hoping there wouldn't be any issues with the AALs. I guess we'll see when I get in there.

Just had mine done on my 08 DCSB this morning, and they fucking suck. I swear I am sitting about two inches lower in the rear now. No more rake, which I liked. It's almost like a leveling kit done backwards.

so weird some people have issues with new ones being lower. Had mine done on my dclb 2006 and it sits the same if not higher.

Strange. Mine is so noticeably lower. I'm almost sitting level. I'm not happy about it, but will probably just live with it.

Been watching this thread for a while to see what is happening with 2011's. I was at the dealer recently and inquired about the spring and they said that mine was ok and not part of the recall. Anybody else get this same response for a 2011?? I have 3 clips on my springs and would think that I qualified just by looking at post 88 above. What gives?

I had the original tsb done back in early 2012 on my 2011 (replaced with a 4pack). Think this one applies?

Just had mine replaced on my 2011 under the recall. I didn't wait for them to contact me. I had some free time so I called the dealer and told them I wanted to bring the truck in because I received the recall letter. They told me the process would be inspection appointment, then replace if approved at a second appointment. I showed up, they took a look and said I was approved for replacement and did the job. I was in and out in an hour and a half. Rear height is the same as before. I talked to the tech and he said height would be the same but I would be able to carry more weight with the new springs.

Thanks for getting back, so did you get the letter from Toyota? I'm wondering if they are stopping by manufacture date on truck? If you don't mind when was yours manufactured?

Mine are on order and the stealership said they would call me in a couple of weeks. What is so damn annoying is that a 10 second job, counting the number of clips and springs, took 1 1/2 hours to complete. Absolutely stunning to me.
