How can I gain a little H.P. / Torque?

    2003 Tacoma Prerunner Crewcab TRD 2.7 L automatic
    Bigger tires, limo tint, Ventshades, e3 spark plugs, Engine/ Drivetrain are stock
    I am curious as how to gain a little H.P./ torque from my little 2.7 L without having to add a turbo or go inside of the engine. I'm not looking for a lot of gain. The engine has enough power as it is, but as a gear head I'm always searching for that little bit more power that I can squeeze out of my vehicles. Are there actual programmers out there besides the rip offs that trick the EAT into thinking the vehicle is running cold thus making the computer throw more gas into the engine. These fake programmers have little if any H.P. gains and the computer usually compensates for the " trick" and then the fake programmer does nothing to add the extremely small H.P. gains. ( usually only 2- 3 H.P. )

    i would also love to know if there's anyway to gain HP and torq I believe there's a

    Deck plate mod

    That opens up the air box people claim it helps it'd be interesting maybe diffrent injectors? Fuel pumps?

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
    Throw a header on the little 4 banger....it will wake it up. Plus the whole coolness factor when you look under the hood.

    LCE Header. That's pretty much the only thing proven 100% to gain you power.

    Don't buy an intake by the way. They do absolutely nothing.

    Just remember, the 2.7 is the reliable no fuss motor(better than the 4.0 and 3.5 v6 in my opinion) It will run harder and longer than those.. You can message @tooter for tips and tricks, he knows what he's doing with the 2.7

    It was a high mileage tacoma, but as a whole the 2.7 does better with reliability.

    Headers don't do much for power unless you have some kind of forced induction (super/turbocharger). If you aren't forcing more air in, having a freer flowing exhaust isn't going to do a whole lot other than sound different.

    Interesting, I wonder what the design difference is. They would do insanely better with a blower in front of them though ;)
