I'm assuming you had to remove the hook before painting it? And, what kind of paint did you use?

You don't want to paint it up to pretty or a crackhead will steal it.

I haven't tested it but it's pretty solid and just like Aussiek said, the bolt on the shackle would snap first. Also, I have a 3/4" shackle and it fit perfectly fine. Aussiek, did you get the Gladman recovery bracket from eBay? And the 2 bolts to use is on the truck already holding the stock recovery bracket if you have a Sport.

I have an off road. The bolts are too long. The ARB 3/4 shackles I have are too big. Pin is 1/8" or so too big from going through hole

Yes I removed it, 2 bolts. I used some old red paint from a rattle can I had laying around.

Yeah Gladman told me that if I had an Offroad then I would have to get new bolts but luckily I have a sport. That's kind of odd because I was able to fit a 3/4" shackle with a 7/8"pin and it easily slid right in.

Weather tech's are pretty sweet since they cover higher up on the center console than the huskys but all in all can't go wrong with either. Personally I think the huskys look a little nicer as far as the design.
