Problems with lifts?

i have a four cylinder 03 tacoma prerunner and i am about to put a 3" lift on it and 33"s. i am just getting it all done at the local les schwab. i want to know what kinds of problems i might be having. any input or advice is helpful.

well i am not sure exactly what kind of lift it is. i cant figure it out from the quote that they gave me. but i think they will probably install it correctly. i am actually trying to find the type of lift right now but i cant figure it out.

 

the price of the lift is $325 and when i look at tacoma lifts on their website the only brand it mentions is a revtek 3" lift kit. i am guessing that is prolly it.

 

how much is quite a bit? i wouldn't mind a bit stiffer ride. i am not usually bothered by that sort of stuff.

 

ok. well i don't think i will be too bothered by that. i am more worried about problems with the tranny and drivetrain and other expensive fixes like that.

 

It might feel a little bit gutless. But that could be changed by re-gearing your diff. I'm running 32" on my LT and have it geared down to 456. I'm not saying you need to do this. Just an option for later down the road if you want more acceleration. For problems with tranny and drivetrain, just do your regular maintenance. It will be just fine. I beat the heck out of my truck.

 

what made you choose the revtec over say a 5100 lift?

 

x2 doesnt the rev tec have blocks in rear as well? not good my man.

 

Doesn't the Billy 5100 lift only do 2.5" lift up front? Don't get me wrong. I'd personally would save up and do a Billy lift and add a leaf in the rear over blocks any day. Axel wrap is annoying. My brother has the billy lift and add a leaf in the rear and the truck rides really nice on dirt and street.
