    I have noticed that when I put on my e-brake it seems like it has trouble disengaging. If I only put it on about half way it seems to release fine but if press the e-brake pedal in more than half way it seems like I have to press the gas and fight thru the brake to get it to release. When I put my boat in the water I always apply it about as hard as I can so I don't end up like some of those pictures you see on the internet where the truck is underwater. I also have a driveway with a decent slope to it so I usually set the e-brake when parking it in the driveway. I have been parking on the street so I don't have to use the e-brake recently but Id like to try and figure out what could be the culprit. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

    Bell cranks in the backing plate are likely rusted and freezing up

    Those are the levers that the cable pulls on each side.

    You can try to clean and lube but usually doesn't last long
