This is good to know. Was wondering why I saw some with many pouches (patagucci), some pouches (Orvis) and none (Simms - which is on sale at Cabelas btw). All personal preference. Great, more choices
Think I may go with the Patagucci one. For the reasons of - I know nothing else, the vest I was looking at would have had pockets on the front, and I can get a good price on it.

I'm sure you'd be very pleased with it over a vest. Can't go wrong with Patagucci!

I think you are right. The (non-fishing) stuff I have from them is pretty bombproof.

Can't really go wrong with Simms, Patagucci or Orvis....I'd even add LL Bean cuz they're close. I've got something from all. I usually just wait till it's on sale, discontinued, etc. for the savings.

    Blasphemy!! ;)

They've strayed some from their hunting & fishing heritage (I can understand the economics of it), but they do have a good product development & R&D for their hunting & fishing gear. It's good stuff and the warranty is top notch. There are many who take advantage of it...but that's another topic.

    I've got:

    LL Bean waders
Korker wading shoes (I like shoes better than boots)
    Orvis sling pack
Pattaguci backpack for carrying it all.

You don't find you need the ankle support with boots on unstable footings?

No...I have very flexible ankles (freak of nature flexible) and I like feeling the river bottom. I can balance better. I think with stiff & taller boots one gets a false sense of solid footing...but that's me!

Only slightl downside is my waders have build in gravel guards with the clip that attaches to the laces. But with the low boots, I occasionally get gravel along the top edge by my ankle, but it's not too bad. I just use my finger to scoop it out

The nets are beautiful...each one a work of art. Like nice handmade furniture. And not unreasonably priced.
