I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport double cab. Starting when I got it, it emits a noise I can only liken to blowing across the top of a Coke bottle. Kind of a hum. It starts around 30-35 mph and continues until around 55 mph. At that point I don't know if it quits or is just drowned out by other road or wind noise. It sounds like it is coming from under the driver's side of the truck. I drive part time for our local Toyota dealer and have driven other Tacomas that have this noise, although none of them has been as loud as mine. Toyota says this is just a "characteristic" noise and not to worry. You guys helped me identify and prove the problem of randomly resetting mileage/odometer readings so that Toyota fixed it with a new combo meter. Thanks for that and I'm hoping one of you has a remedy for this humming thing.

Take it to a dealer there is TSB out for that. I'm the first to recommend this :)

tape the holes on your A arms front suspension the ones facing down there's 5 only 3 get plugs. IF that fixes it take it to the dealer and have them install plugs in the holes on the A arms. As mentioned there's a TSB for the holes in the A arms.... not all trucks have this issue.

Thanks to all for your help. I first thought that if taping a couple holes was good, taping all of them would be sure to solve the problem, so I did. Then I got caught in a rain storm. When I saw the TSB, I thought I'd try the three hole thing so I started taking the tape off and found out why they don't want you to plug all the holes....the control arm was full of water. Duh. The three hole thing works. The sound is gone.
