I would think SAS would be ideal if you have the $$$. It's what I would do to be honest. I want a truck I can DD and hit a hard ass trail/trip and come back home. I feel that a second rig would be a trail rig and that would need to be towed and that's more money also. You would need to regear and need a trailer and it just seems the list keeps growing.

Yeah I want the same, a 80 series on 40s is more than capable of driving cross country. If I planned on towing a rig I would just buy a truck that could actually tow, not make the tacoma into something it isn't capable of. Who knows what will happen, I want SAS just not sure if its the right move. 10k+ is hard to throw down when you really think about what else you could buy, if I knew how much I would really spend on this truck I certainly would have gone a different direction than I have gone.

Help me out here. I'm trying to figure out why this is bad. I know it is but I can't figure out the geometry in my head.

Inb4 we start seeing pictures of people trying to replicate it with some all-thread and an old socket.

    Searching for troopies now.

2nd gen tacoma allpro UCA upper control arms (for google purposes)

Cleaned up the UCAs, removed the old bushings so its ready to go this week when the bushings get here. So 3/8 bushings looked like this, you can see how badly they are warped. One set had clumps of dirt in-between the bushings, my guess is that the dirt entered where the bushing was warped so its probably been like this for some time. One of the sleeves has lost its coating and started to rust, so that will need changed. Both uniballs have pitting like pictured, but only on one side :notsure:

So I checked the dates on installation, May 5th 2015 according to my IG when I took the picture of them first installed. So one winter (spent mostly out west) and a handful of wheeling trips, only 2-3 included water and this is how they have turned out. Pretty crappy deal, and sucks to see everyone who bought a pair on the last GB run

Wow, glad you didn't have any failures of any kind. My uniballs are a couple of years old and look a little worse than that (icon), not pleased with that either but they are part of the game unfortunately. Don't know what separates some having issues and some not with weather and off-roading conditions, a lot of inconsistencies as far as I'm concerned, not a fan.

Yup, hey you gonna try to make it to the "Appalachian toyota round up" over labor day weekend at windrock park? I think I might be able to make that trip if I don't go too far away for work.

Yeah this is first set of uniballs so I was a little unsure of wear, everyone says they require a little tlc to keep them running smooth but ive always lubed them and rinsed them out when dirty. One uniball has a very slight amount of play and the other is a little bit more, I wont be using allpro for uniball replacements unless they feel like covering it.
