It can get down to the 30s at night later in October. Plus its been known to snow. I'm thinking 1st and 2nd week in Oct might be preferred.

Yea thinking September maybe? Maybe Labor Day weekend actually. That way we can get out but probably won't see many people for most of it

 

The loop road up to worthen meadows opened today if anyone was interested.

 

Finished reading American sniper. Great book, if you liked the moive I highly recomend the book

 

Yea. Really is sad how the real story ended. The movie is good. The book is better of course but the movie is still good.

I'm going to start lone survivor soon. That movie is fucking crazy

 

Hopefully this isn't against the rules or something, but I figured I would put my Craigslist post for the Duratracks and Wheelers steelies off of my truck in here... Theres probably only about 3 people in all of Wyoming looking for something like this. Oh and anyone who has nothing else to do, let me know if you think the price is too high/ low/ or about right.

 

Not familiar with the wheels you are talking about but I would think $400-$450 would prob move them

 

Wheelers Off-road used to sell steelies that fit the 1st and 2nd gen Tacomas, shaved down Procomps to fit over the brake calipers I think.

 

Been checking the road up blackrock weekly, still only open 50% of the way (Moran side). I believe the mainline from union pass (Dubois side) to green river lakes (Pinedale side) should be smooth sailing by now. Unfortunately there is not a route that will take you all the way from Dubois to Jackson at this point (damn forest service closures). Anyone planning to visit Yellowstone or grand Teton this year be forewarned the park service has asked the locals to stay home due to overwhelming crowds due to the parks centennial. At the rv park here in Moran we've already had some 100% capacity nights this month (200 plus sites) which generally doesn't happen till the 4th of July. All that being said anyone who is passing through Moran or Dubois shoot me a message, wheeling is more fun with company.

 

Shoot me a message when you know for sure when your coming, be fun to trade some local knowledge of our respective ends of the Winds.

 

Unfortunately the tourists are out in full force, you can however make it most of the way from Moran to the Gros Ventre along the powerline right away which definitely beats the highway, there is a really cool campsite at the top of gunsight pass in the Gros Ventre from which you can see the pinnacles on togowotee, not to mention a few killer campsites up Blackrock from which you have unobstructed views of the entire Teton Range.

 

I think everything is opened up around here finally, not sure of our true boundaries yet though.

 

I'll talk with Jen this coming week about it and we'll get something on the calendar! We're gonna be traveling to WI for a wedding this coming week so it'll be a few weeks yet. Maybe late June. @BossFoss you and Heather feel up for a trip that way end of June for a long weekend? Or anyone else for that matter?

Just talked to my boss and it sounds like I may be moving at the end of the year. Not 100% yet but Houston may be next...
