    Hey everyone....
I currently own an '07 FJ Cruiser. I love my rig, but I miss not having a truck. I'm looking at an '07 Taco 4x4 DC with reasonable mileage. Are there any known problems or concerns about with this model year or generation?
My past experiences with Toyota has always been excellent.

    Thanks!

Leaf springs inadequate for the job. There's a TSB out for that. Also the spiral cable can snap (too short) if the alignment shop doesn't leave you in the center of rotation/travel on the steering wheel. TSB out on that too.

Will the TSB's still be taken care of on used vehicles?

Dealers do not action TSBs before selling a used vehicle, but they can't sell one with open recalls.

There's currently an ongoing recall on the leaf springs due to rust which supersedes the "harsh ride" TSB.

Can't remember if the spiral cable was a recall or just a TSB. In any case a faulty spiral cable is very evident - just turn the steering wheel lock to lock and make sure all steering wheel buttons work and the airbag light doesn't come on.

Check the frame for rust holes, especially near the catalytic converters.

The entire second generation has a long list of minor, manageable issues. Frame rot is the biggest one. Forget the leaf spring TSB. Just put in an aftermarket leaf pack.

    Whole lotta stuff
    Yes.

All 05-16 Tacoma's come with a little demon that sits on your shoulder and whispers in your ear saying "Mod the truck, spend thousands on aftermarket parts, you need better suspension, CV's are weak-do a solid axle swap..."
Then you just kinda enjoy the ride.;)

I have an 07 and have been pretty lucky. "Knock on wood"

I have 170k miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace under the hood is the battery..besides regular maintenance stuff. I've ran nothing but Mobile 1 oil and 93 octane and the engine runs as smooth as the first day I've owned it
