Well... its slow, automatic, not loud, and stock. Really though I do like it a lot, the interior is my favorite part and its a build over time. Mustang in the last month needed 3.5k worth of repairs.

When I got my 4Runner, I felt the same way. Slow, stock, needed some work. The loudness wasn't a factor due to the exhaust, but It's slowly getting armored. Doing it right the first time is way more fun than redoing it halfway through like I did with the tacoma.

I feel that but I built my last Tacoma pretty much where I wanted it myself and I know how long it took as well as the labor and money behind it. I told myself my options are wait for a pre built truck 2012-2015 because I dont need to rebuild a third truck or get a 2016 and run it stock because it had enough new features to keep me occupied. Now here I am stock and building another truck, oh and no straight pipe for this V6 lol

I did get the Tech/Premium, and really enjoy it, but was by no means a "need" thing.

Yeah, me too. Doing a 10 day Colorado road trip in August after I get back from Whistler(Not driving to Whistler). Definitely much nicer to take on road trips than my 2nd gens were.

I was gonna say I dont think any single cab is a good idea for a road trip, especially if you have a family

We both (and my wife has multiple issues... besides me!) like the 2nd gen Taco better than the 2012 Highlander. Much nicer seats in the Taco support wise, and mine rides on the highway very nice!

@4Running Daily , know of any available front bumpers for an 89 4-runner?

    Some stuff here and there....
Ram did well. Touched the tail pipe once. But no damage. Watched a runner do hells gate and almost flop cause of the shorter wheel base and rtt so he almost went over but he got saved by some awesome spotting and coaching by ryan
